Holidays #4 2024 onwards

1
We’ve always wanted to do Japan, but the flights we wanted went via Hong Kong anyway so I wanted to stop off for a couple of nights on the way home to experience Hong Kong as well.

I can’t wait to get planning.
We have about 2 days there which probably isn't a lot of time but we will try and fit in what we can. It looks fab!
Somewhere else ticked off the bucket list.
I quite enjoy long-haul flights, which usually require a connection, meaning you get to visit some extra countries along the way.

Japan is on my bucket list too

Definitely me! I just booked Japan and Hong Kong for next year…👀
I can't decide where I want to go keep changing my mind. I want to do a group tour on my potential list is: Albania, Belize, Ecuador, Vietnam, Panama (I want to do the San Blas Islands). Bit I can't find the perfect group tour. I found one on contiki for Albania but then I read they are very party heavy, I don't mind a bit of partying but not every day.. Belize I don't think I found a tour that would suited the time I'd be able to book off work as they are 8 days long so I could do it still but I wanted a few chill days after which I could only fit in before work work, this would be fine but the tour finishes in the chill location but starts in the city where I don't want to chill so I'd have to make my way somewhere else beforehand. Ecuador I've read bad things about safety? Vietnam I just put on the list as it's a cheaper option and I would want to go someday but theres other places I want to go more. Panama I found a tour or Costa Rica than finishes in Panama but it wouldn't give me enough days to do the San Blas Islands which is what I want to do

I’ve not been to Asia before so it will be nice to experience it!

I’m always very indecisive, I went back and forth over what to do next year and just on a whim booked these flights as I found them at a price I wanted.

There’s nothing worse than knowing what you want but not being able to find that exact thing.

I often travel with my friend but I told her I want to go solo once a year but I'd avoid the places she wants to go... She wants to go Costa Rica but the Costa Rica tour would fit best for what I can do in terms of dates plus adds on Panama at the end meaning I can at least do a day tour to San Blas Islands. I just feel bad going there as I said I'd avoid the few places she wants to go...
The other option I didn't add was Portugal by train completely solo but it's for a big birthday so I'd like to go with a group. Just easier to go solo even if a group tour as my friend takes ages to say yes and I want to book asap so I can slowly pay it off over a long period.
Are you going solo?

I’m going with my husband but he just leaves all the holiday ideas down to me because he’s happy to go wherever haha, although Japan has been high on both of our lists for a long time.

One of my friends met a group of women through work who travel together. They’re not friends as such. One of the women organises everything and the others decide if they’re going to book or not. There’s some times up twenty of them going. I think my auntie found a group like on Facebook.

I'd love to find a group like that, but sadly I hate people so know I'd want to leave 5 mins in :ROFLMAO:

I'm using this exact excuse to do a few nights in Dubai in a few weeks. I'm going to Vietnam ( huge bucket list tick) and travel via Dubai so thought I'd grab a few nights on the way back. Not on my to do list but if it isn't for me at least I can chill in the sun and break up the jet lag

At least you can say you have done it if it isn’t for you :)
I find it’s quite a good way to ticket some extra countries off your bucket list so usually try to travel via somewhere for that reason and always pick somewhere different.
We did Singapore this year on the way to Thailand, not somewhere I was that bothered about visiting but I’m glad I did. Really enjoyed it and the people were so friendly.

Would love to do Vietnam, been on my bucket list for years. Someday :)

Absolutely, that's what I'm thinking, won't know if I never try!
I will feed back in a few weeks
