Holidays #4 2024 onwards

1
Rockefeller Christmas tree. 5th Ave window displays. Central Park for a wander and ice skating and Christmas markets near Columbus circle. Dyker heights Christmas lights.
Rockettes Xmas show is good but pricey and the boys may prefer the lights better than a Christmas show?
Brooklyn bridge. Roosevelt cable car.
Chelsea markets is also fab for food. I love 9/11 memorial. The museum is good too but it hits home and can be quite moving.
Broadway is always fun. There’s loads of different shows you could get last minutes for at the box office on Times Square.
You’ll love it, no matter what it’s Christmas time and it’s honestly, just magical. I think you are going at the right time. I went for Christmas week and it was fab but it was overcrowded.
Hope you have an amazing time x

Thank you! I shall make sure I’ve got it all on my list, going to get the city passes at the end of the month and see the bigger things with those!

It’s very pricey when you’re there. Like £10 a beer pricey. I preferred Malmo which is just across the Øresund Bridge in Sweden, but Copenhagen is still a nice city.
Sorry to butt in but would you recommend Copenhagen for a mother/son(teen) trip!Hes requested there or Sweden

Any suggestions please for a sunny week away in November? It’s a special occasion, so somewhere with lovely views, nice food and decent hotels (preferably where we wouldn’t have to go all inclusive if we didn’t need to)
Don’t mind a longer flight, but realistically we probably won’t be doing a great deal other than walking, swimming and relaxing.
Maybe the odd day trip, but we’ve reached the stage where now that we’re holidaying without kids to amuse, we’re finding we like chilling out a lot more than we thought we would 😂

Have you thought about Dubai?

Thank you ☺️
We’ve been to Dubai and we did consider going back.
We liked it but both feel that maybe once was enough - although maybe we could try staying in a different area - we were on the palm last time.
What about Abu Dhabi, Marrakesh, or if something a little closer the Canaries?

Try Malta. Had a friend go over Xmas and they loved it. They said it was hot enough to use the pools and go to the seaside

Thailand would be lovely too 🙂

Could I please have some suggestions of somewhere that's got a 5 star all inclusive that is a max 4.5hr flight time. I had to cancel our honeymoon hotel in turkey as there's a massive faff having to use an app to book restaurants and you had to do it by 9am or there was no space but come night time the restaurants were half empty. I don't want to pay what to us is a fair chunk of £ to have to fight each day to get a table to eat at

My husband has time off in January and wants go take the kids abroad as we've never been able to before. But where is warm enough at that time of year that doesn't come with a lengthy plane journey? I have had a google but prefer to hear from people who may have been somewhere!

Canaries would be in the 20s - thats the most reliable short haul destination at that time of year i would say

Lanzarote is roughly 3.5h flight. Generally mid to high 20s in Jan. We went late Dec 2022 and it was 27c.
