Apparently the 'sun' part of the stage (the circular rig at the back that revolves) isn't working properly and several acts are having to change their choreography to compensate.

Eurovision 2022: Technical Issues Reported With The Kinetic Sun Stage
They’re apparently now limiting it to interval acts only, though I haven’t actually seen a proper source for this

Don’t really know how no one planned for the possibility of it breaking between all the stage changes in general tbh. Also with how slow it seemed to move in the videos shared, I sort of question whether everything could have been changed in 30 seconds or less tbh

Eurovision 2022: Technical Issues Reported With The Kinetic Sun Stage

The rumour is it was fine until they added the river around the stage. It’s ironic as they told delegations at the start of this contest no water was allowed on stage in case it damaged it.

They are doing first rehearsals and the stagings all look the same unless you have a prop. Lithuania and Latvia have been affected quite a lot. When you get close to the black semi-circle (the “sun”) it looks very dark, pixelated and you can see the grid lines where it’s meant to have LED.

I’m quite disappointed with the stage so far. Not just because it doesn’t work but compared to some of the stages in previous years this just feels … boring.

Does anyone know who the interval acts/entertainment will be?
The hosts will do some performances throughout, Maneskin will perform on Saturday (not live though if rumors are to believed) and Diodato (Italy’s pick from 2020) will perform in Semi 1.

Sam was on a live stream with Eurovision Hub yesterday and he’s given absolutely nothing away about his staging so far (apart from that leaked clip) but he said he’s really excited to perform on the stage and he’s resting his voice.

There’s been fans asking him on social media whether he’s keeping the “nothing but nothing but space man” in the Space Man outro that he hasn’t done in any live performances and begging him to keep it. It’s still in the shortened lyrics on the official website but so far he’s been radio silence about it. However, he was asked and this was his response:

Out of the top 7 in the odds...heres my thoughts so far. What do you think?

Ukraine - I think it'll do very well in the televote and be lucky to scrape top 10 in the jury vote, which may not be enough to win.
Italy - might get top 5 in jury. I'm not sure will it get top 5 in public vote, 9th in the running order isn't a brilliant slot, and there's a lot of other ballads and it could get overshadowed.
Sweden - i think this will win the jury vote and has a good chance of top 5 in televote so out of the top 7 I could see this being most likely winner. Risk that it doesn't connect with the public outside the fandom tho.
UK - finding really hard to predict how juries and public will respond. Should come top 10 in both but will it be top 5, dunno??
Spain - I think this has a chance of winning, I could see it getting top 5 in jury and televote and it should stand out among the ballads.
Poland - will be top 10, I don't see it winning unless the staging is amazing. He's a fab vocalist not sure about the overall package. The diaspora MAY come out and vote for him as its a good song.
Greece - finding it hard to see this winning, I can't explain why, maybe because i can't connect to the song I could see it doing well but not having the winning formula.

A few other mentions:
Norway - I can see it being top 5 in televote but see it being 10-15 in jury vote which will sink it.
Australia - will do very well with juries (probably top 5) and tank in the televote
Netherlands - I can see this getting lost in the pack and coming around 12th.
Serbia - really hard to say how this will do, it could bomb or be a surprise top 5.
Portugal - could be a surprise top 10, I could see it doing really well with the jury, televote maybe midtable.
France - I like the song sadly I think it will flop, the presentation is a little all over the place

Alrighty, get ready...

Ukraine - they'll definitley do well with televote plus get some sympathy votes both from televote and the jury vote but it is not good enough to win. Think in the offical OGAE poll they often only got 1-2 points.
Italy - huge jury appeal but will split the public. Italy always does good though so, I am predicting top 3? Hopefully not a winner mostly because I don't want Italy to host again 😂
Sweden - again huge jury appeal and I think it is pretty much hers to loose. She won the OGAE poll so she's obviously loved in the fandom but the message of the song will touch many plus it's well produced, great vocals and staging hopefully will be good.
UK - no idea. Anything from bottom 5 to top 5 seems possible.
Spain - I am so torn on this. On one hand I can see this appealing to the public and juries might be impressed by her voice but I still can't see this being anywhere near the top with the juries when there are so many great ballads. Plus Spain always seems to struggle.
Poland - decent song but don't get the hype
Greece - *copy & paste what was said about Poland*
Norway - I am biased because I LOVE this song and would love for it to win but juries will drag this down. Might do really well with televote - espeically if they perform near the end.
Australia, Netherlands and Serbia - could be dark horses if they can connect with the public and nail staging.
Portugal - type of mellow song some people love (juries) while others hate it (public?)...
France - love this but yea, can see this tank big time. Hopefully it will at least mean Germany's not at the bottom alone while the rest of the Big 5 do really well.

Some of my additions:
Austria, Czech and Estonia - absolutely love these and hope they will go thru to the final. Especially Austria.
Ireland - such a guilty pleasure. There's no chance in hell she's going to the final but it is such a bop.

This time next week we'll be getting ready for the first semi final. It will be shown on BBC3 at 8pm.
One year I will be lucky enough to not be working Eurovision Grand Final weekend. Sadly, it isn't gonna be this year. Still gonna be up watching until the very end, being tired at work is worth it.

Just call in sick Stephen. It’s worth it
There's only gonna be two of us in on the Sunday. And I'm the supervisor. Don't think I can get away with it. If I'm lucky, it should be a quick in and out job. So only a couple of hours. I can't see any reason why it won't be, but it's still a 6am start, which is rough after Eurovision and the drinking required to get through it.

Absolutely terrified 😂 There’s been some
disappointments after the rehearsals so far!
Haven’t there just! The raves on the socials for Austria’s circular light rig are puzzling me and poor Brooke Scanlon and her dancers are wearing outfits that look like they’ve come straight off the Liberty Market in Dublin.

Sweden are getting on my tits. They’ve fecked Shallow by Lady GaGa for the song, the staging is dull and Cornelia Jackson is swanning around Turin like she’s already won. I will be so pissed off if she wins.

Anyway, Sam Ryder’s fabulous and he’s put so much effort into all this. Of course he won’t win but it’ll be amazing if this launches his career properly. I could see him going down a storm in the US.

I agree and I don't understand why people are keen on the Swedish song. It's one of their weaker entries. If we sent it, it would be in the bottom 5.

Sam will definitely become a massive star after Eurovision, so it probably doesn't matter to him that much if he wins or not. He's already got a much bigger audience and fan base.

There are a lot of slow songs this year sung by breathy women (Greece, Portugal, Netherlands, Iceland, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Sweden to name not all of them). It's going to be very hard for them to stand out especially with the stage not working properly. I really like the Netherlands song but I don't know whether it will do well.

Having said that, there's also a lot of breathy men (Poland, Azerbaijan, Australia, Switzerland) so it's clearly a trend ;) and none of them are bad songs! I like them all!

I have a real soft spot for Zdob si Zdub from Moldova because of the giant gnome hats from 2011 (So Lucky) but I don't think they'll make it through to the final

So Lucky
