Joining this thread as a long time Emmerdale viewer. It does have some ridiculous and rubbish storylines / acting lately. I think they swapped writers with Corrie a while ago didn’t they and it seems to have gone down hill since then and Corrie has gotten better when that used to be the stupid soap..

Anyway, my views on some characters.
Rhona - can’t abide her. Real busy body constantly sticking her nose into other peoples lives and I don’t like this storyline with the baby.

Billy and Dawn - utterly dull and boring characters. I don’t care about them enough to care about their baby. Also having this whole brood of kids and Dawn is apparently a Saint and the perfect mother. Yawn.

Caleb - HOT. Caleb and Tracey - ridiculous. Of all the women in the village I just can’t see Caleb with a frumpy woman in a marshmallow coat. There’s nothing sexy or sleek about her which is what I’d think he’d want. Also, Tracey literally left the village and took Nate’s daughter away because he had a one night stand and yet now she was having a full on affair with her husbands uncle.
Though I can’t blame her because…

Nate - also so so dull and terrible actornand awful voice.

Victoria and Jacob - storyline gives me the ick. I quite like Victoria but can’t stand Jacob and his constant confused eyebrows expression.

Well I’m completely disloyal (I’ve been driven to it!!) and I’ve not even watched tonight’s episode yet. Been watching eastenders for the first time in 10 years! Although I’ve no idea of the back stories and some characters were dead the last time I saw it, it’s rather entertaining so far!
 
Every story is so daft and ridiculous
Rhona and her biological baby is Gus going to commit suicide and they are going to end up with the baby ?👶🏻
Sunni his dad and the whole did he didn’t he push Rishi down the stairs 🙄
Boring belle and Tom 🙄
Poor charity with ungrateful Mackenzie
I’m so glad I record it and fast forward stuff

Surely there’d be social workers checking that he’s coping with a brand new baby after just losing his wife too (I’m barely watching at this point so apologies if I’ve completely missed this happening!)
ETA: Heath looks a handsome young man, if he can act he could be a real asset in the future (they’ll probably kill him off or something though like they did with Lianna who also had loads of potential 🙄)

Marlon is getting on my tits all he wants Rhona to do is fashion a basket from reeds and float poor Eve away from the village of doom 🙄
For a start any sane person would have been on to the police straight away once they knew about the stolen embryo and agree with Rhona in that if it was his baby he wouldn’t be saying all this stuff but it’s pretend so 🤷‍♀️

Love how April is eternally sensible
