When Billy was talking yesterday about how he got Jay out of the children's home that made me think that he must have been his legal guardian for a while. Social Services don't allow random people to take kids from homes without any documentation etc.

Yeah there must have been a time Billy would have been Jay’s legal guardian so surely that must be on the records somewhere to prove Billy’s relationship with Jay

for me that part with billy talking to honey just made the whole jay and honey storyline even more sick!
billy talking about a little boy with his tongue in a bowl of cornflakes and honey thinking we’re else his tongue has been 🤢

if you watch, as I do, all of the episodes in one go on a Saturday then the one family per week is not bad it’s like a mini film but I can imagine it’s very jarring if you watch each day.

I'm not sure but I think you can. I recall filling in a form when I registered at my doctors surgery and I think NOK was asked as a question. It was a long time ago but I think they do ask for details when you register. If your GP has this on their records it should filter through.

I think the police can access your records at the register office. A friend of mine got a phone call because a man with the same name as her son had been involved in an accident. It wasn't her son but they were ringing all the next of kins in order to get the right one

That's what I had to do in order to help my friend who had no family I registered with his GP as next of kin. From then on I was kept in the loop for all my friends needs, be they medical appointments, admissions to hospital, meetings with social services, carers, everything. Even when he was seriously I'll on his deathbed it was me the doctor rang to give permission for a do not resus order, then it was me that had to arrange his funeral. So for me being a next of kin was a big deal, but I'm grateful I was recognised as such and I was able to be there for my friend
 
I really didn’t like that episode. The Jay stuff broke my heart and was delighted Gina called Ben and Billy out for being the hypocrites they were but other than that it was very meh. Too much monologuing and not enough character interactions. As said above I’m hating the family weeks - at this rate it’ll be after Xmas by the time we get an update on Jay.

This made me think. What if there are a group of different men in hospital in the lead up to the Christmas story lines. Theo, Jay, potentially Rocky. If Dean turns up someone might kick the tit out of him and put him in hospital. I don’t know why any of this would be of relevance though. Just a crazy idea.

Yeah he can have a steady paycheck there until death as the Eastenders Ken Barlow, because he isn't a good enough actor to make it away from the show.
