I have mixed emotions about people's feelings on here.
I remember reading how people were angry about all the lockdown protests and how we still had an element of freedom so what was the point.

The point was they weren't just protesting about you being able to see family and friends, it was about you being able to go eat, drink, swim, holiday without discrimination - despite your vaccine status, they saw what was happening now and had to put up with being labeled conspiracy theorists.
Or that people would still feel guilty about wearing a mask even though rules say you didn't have too because of the scaremongering.

Now today we hear that those basic freedoms you've been given back are still be governed in some ways

I feel sad that people are just seeing this (gaslighting is a killer I know) and sad were still in this situation, but hopeful that more people may now be on-board and that maybe, just maybe the tide might turn

end of the day, many hated the restrictions, all of us, not just the elite CT’s, the elite CT’s who are probably gutted that restrictions are being lifted because they don’t like being wrong, they are being lifted, albeit slowly, we are still In a pandemic, this isn’t an attack on you I like your posts, I don’t see anyone here as a full on CT obsessive.

I think that’s more of a conscience thing that a government thing.

i don’t think vaccine passports will become a thing for social events, or restaurants or bars here, proof of a negative result or a vaccine cert/proof you’ve had covid etc maybe so, who knows, I think they’re trying to get everyone to get the vaccine by throwing these ideas around. The word passport like it’s more official, I could be wrong,
Now the vaccine, I do have issue with but that’s another topic.

I have a problem with the street party thug protests, I have a problem with the lockdown being extended so much it effected the economy.
the little things like masks and social distancing are so minor I don’t see the issue if masks are legally required for another 2 or 12 months, we all have bigger fish to fry, it’s just cloth, a lot seem to be overthinking it in my opinion

You can get a certificate of proof. Check the gov. website. It's both sent to your phone and a paper copy.

Its not meant to be patronising at all. I've been a victim of gaslighting and I think that why things have wound me up so so much. I know how it feels to be lied too, to have promises made and them be ripped away. I know how foolish you feel and how much of a head duck it all is - honestly - I still have my moments now of worrying about this virus, then I think of my first hand experience and all the propaganda and relax again.
What's been done to us, our kids and our elderly loved ones is cruel. You can't have two parents sit by their sick child's hospital bed, but both parents could attend football or tennis .. wtf!?

What do people want? Who knows at this point, but rewind 16mths and it wouldn't be losing the right to protest, or to be coerced into an experimental vaccine, or to agree to your kids having it, or agreeing people should lose their jobs if they're not vaccinated or agreeing to show private medical details just so you can have a pint, or worse - not being even allowed to have a meal out unless your vaccinated, which I see poor old Ireland will now have to put up with... and all that when it's been proven that you can still catch the virus and pass it on regardless

I was lied to, they told me I only had to wear the tiny bit of cloth during the pandemic and... ok so it’s still a pandemic, and it’s just a bloody mask that many countries use daily by choice that we’ve been asked to wear, because let’s face it, all countries were winging it to see what helped keep numbers down, down remember happy birthday THEY MADE ME WASH MY HANDS TO HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I think CT’s tend to over think things and make them an issue that really isn’t need, maybe THEY tie themselves in knots of anxiety when it’s not necessary, like the rocking chair theory, worrying about something that gets you nowhere.

I have to agree with this. We lost my dad to covid this year and I still think if we could turn back time he’d rather have lived the little bit he did in 2020 than have fully shielded. He didn’t break any rules but still went to the supermarket and helped my mum with childcare of our daughter.

proof of no infection for the moment, I'm not vaccinated, i can still see for now why it’s being asked for, it’s not “PASSPORT OR NO ENTRY”
it’s proof you’re covid free. Again I agree, I don’t think they can prove it in any way, I don’t think it will stick Let’s wait and see how long it goes on. Nothing seems set in stone with anything yet

We both know it's not about having to wear a mask, it's the lying about Xmas, unlocking, locking... oh no.. maybe unlocking... nope, unlocking with bizarre mixes rules, ID cards, no cards, domestic passports won't happen, yeh they will, no they won't, might happen... now looking likely to happen only if your vaxxed.
Not mandating a vaccine, now mandating it so you can work.
No one knows where they stand!

How is this gaslighting?

They have no idea how long it works for, the data on transmission keeps changing, as does how often people may need to have it. They're looking at if it's safe for children because they don't know the risk/benefit and long term problems.
They didn't know it caused blood clots, anaphylaxis, myocarditis, menstrual problems ect.

I've had one jab, so I'm not anti it either.

I have a stupid question and I’ve not been following these threads but figured you’d all be the experts

A guy at work has let us know today that his son has tested positive for covid, I think he’s 9 or 10. The guy has tested negative. They took the test this afternoon.

So my question is, how concerned should I be that he might have spread it to us?

So I’ve got a question…. I’m in wales and obviously that means my gp is here and we don’t have the covid passport app here. I have an event in England in August and it’s indoors so thinking they may be asking for proof of jabs. I’ve had both of mine but have no proof other than the little calling card thingy! I’m sure there will be lots of people in the same position. I suppose an alternative is I could do a LFT the day of the event and hope that’s enough? I read someone on BBC that they would ask for proof of a negative PCR but aren’t those the ones that you only do if you have symptoms I do feel sorry for venues as there is so much conflicting information being put out!

I dunno if this is applicable to wales but you can ring 119 and ask for the paper documentation to show both jabs. I got mine last week and it’s in my passport as some countries are reluctant to accept the nhs app so I have this as backup
