You're not stupid, I saw your other comment. Don't be so hard on yourself! This is a sucky time for everyone in a hundred different ways, and it manifests in a hundred other ways. Underneath it all I do believe we all want the same things but just have different opinion on how to achieve that.
 
I am no conspiracy theorist. I trust science, had my vaccine and can see the break in the link between cases and hospitalisations/death. Our vulnerable are protected against serious illness.

But I feel we have been failed by a completely incompetent Government who have had no plan or clue at any point what is going on. And despite the threat of a varient they let us down AGAIN by allowing people unchecked from India into this country.

I am angry we have been let down so badly and I am worried for the future of building our economy back up if this goes on much longer.

I totally agree. There is no one the government can blame this time around, other than themselves. This is not a result of the general public following or not following the rules, only their border rules could have kept the delta variant out of Britain and they have utterly failed us.
 
For me this isn't about making light of a virus killing people , this always has been a scary virus , but as time goes on and you see how the government are to blame for 10s of thousands of deaths and people being ill , plus the numbers being manipulated to the point they are meaningless, they are so arbitrary you can't really believe them, then the rules are just so stupid you would think 6 year old smacked out of their heads on cheap orange pop would have come up with them.

Don't go out , but go out if you have to, we all knew from the moment Johnson gave his first briefing that this was a mess , and instead of learning they keep making mistakes after mistakes, and then using lie after lie to cover them up, the money wasted , 22 billion or more on a test and trace , no one can ever justify billions when a kid could have knocked together a working app on their own pc at home, so money has gone missing, all the contracts given to mates , who then couldn't actually do the job, all while earning millions at the approval of Hancock.
Lies given about a Xmas spent with loved ones , when we knew winter would be a bad time for numbers , 5 days before Xmas, people spent a fortune on food , and now you can't see anyone over Xmas, depressing millions causing thousand to take their lives.

This isn't about nightclubs opening so we can stay out till 4am pissed , its about how this government has treated us and lied to us and manipulated us for 18 months , and when you see world leaders taking the piss enjoying life , you know the virus isn't that bad in the summer , otherwise they wouldn't have all flown in from around the world when the public can't have such luxuries, its a complete piss take , people at the top are making millions while most of us are suffering

If people want to bury their heads in the sand fair enough , but stop mocking those of us with the old conspiracy rubbish , it's not a conspiracy when you actually see it all happening , it's not like they are even bothered now , they just lie blatantly about variants that haven't been anything like they tell us, they have been desperate for a third wave for 3 months now and nothing has happened, it's embarrassing.
 
They need to send off the excess vaccines we have after everyone has been offered one over the age of 18 to poorer countries. Forget jabbing under 18s and prioritise the elderly and vulnerable in other places who can’t afford it.

Perfect in a country with reliable weather but not in one where the weather is not so great.

Our last time away it rained all day every day with high winds. Would have been a washout had we not been allowed anywhere together.

The thing is though it's BS what on earth is more time going to do? They are destroying people's lives for what purpose.
 
This will never end. There will always be variants and then guess what...? It’ll be winter and people will die of the flu and other such illnesses. It’ll be blamed on covid and then we’re back in lockdown.
I’m not anti vax or anti science or any of that but the only way this will stop is if people stop complying.
Countries elsewhere are stopping the mandate of mask wearing once you’ve been vaccinated and opening up their economy again.
Poverty will kill more people than covid has and it’s totally avoidable! I have friends working in the wedding industry and trust me when I say they’d rather I’ve covid 100 times over than live without work and an income.

I would rather stick pins in my eyes than vote Tory, but I think they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Also our lockdowns have been nowhere near as harsh as they’ve been in other parts of the world.I’ve got family in Dubai and they weren’t allowed to leave their home without a permit, if they attempted to do so them police would stop them and return them home. Likewise friends who got stuck at their holiday home in Spain during lockdown one and couldn’t leave without being stopped by police. Also look at Diane Buswell’s social media to see what real travel quarantine looks like. She’s currently confined to one room in a hotel in Perth with no windows, she has to stay there for a week.

We in the U.K. don’t know we are born.

I don’t think you can call people self absorbed and entitled for wanting things which we have been able to do with no restrictions for most of our lives. Of course nobody needs a holiday or party or whatever else but why the hell can’t people complain they need a holiday as we’ve never not been able to take our holidays or have our party’s or go to our festivals.
