I am SO close to impulse buying a switch. I used to religiously play animal crossing for my anxiety and I want the new one 😭😭
I haven’t played animal crossing since new leaf but since I couldn’t get a tattoo for Mother’s Day my husband got me it, it’s so nice to be doing something and not think about all of this! I’m so bad at concentrating watching films and always go back to looking on my phone but I don’t when I’m playing

I really think my mum had it in January, I’ve never seen her so unwell, it was like flu but so much worse, she was really unwell for 3 weeks and it took her a long time to get her health back to normal, I really do want the new “did you have corona” test #NewSwitch because she’s avoiding her grandkids right now incase she gets it. If she’s already had it she would still need to be cautious but it would be good to know if that was what she had and it would make me less worried about her chances of getting it again, I’ve never in my life seen her so unwell and it is making me more concerned than I am about myself or anyone else around me.

it’s scary to think it’s gone undetected here for 3 months if these cases were genuinely the corona.

Im certain that the virus has been around and circulating for longer than we've been told. Remember the the Chinese only informed the WHO after a doctor blew the whistle at the end of December. I know of several people who believe they had it before Christmas, it will be interesting to see how many people died from seasonal flu or pneumonia at the end of the year.

A friend did a blind taste and smell test with a number of different food items and drinks. Had absolutely no idea he drank straight gin

Yep! I mentioned here yesterday that I’m convinced I had it last month. I lost my sense of smell and taste for 12 days. I drank rum straight to see if the fumes would at least twitch my senses but nope! Neither with mustard too. It’s really strange as all you have left is the texture of food and it can be really off putting when you don’t have the taste there.

I believe Coronavirus has been around for many months, people displaying symptoms going back to 2019 my wife showing similar ones before Xmas, how come it wasn’t flagged up by the health authorities. A new viral strain not included in the flu jab.

I was very, very ill in December with exactly the same symptoms of COVID-19. Started as a headache for about 5 days, dry cough which progressively got worse and a sort of sinusy cold...but not a cold if that makes sense. Cough was unproductive but became bloody. I had a huge fever, sats down to 93%, my blood pressure rocketted and my resting pulse rate at one point was over 100. To put it bluntly I was fucked!! I ended up being tested for Pneumonia and a blood clot. They said it was possibly a virus at that point but put me on amoxicillin which didnt really do much other than make me sick!! My husband didnt get it, nor did my mum who was briefly staying with us. So really, it could be coincidental. But it was absolutely rife in December! I've had my fair share of chest infections but I was absolutely awful.

The death rate this December was up an average of 800 people PER WEEK, average age of 75.

My sister and I had it for 3 weeks over Christmas as well. Went back to uni in January to find out most people in my class had been ill. Makes you think but it could have easily been seasonal flu.

First time poster on this thread. I have to admit, it's comforting to know that I am not the only one suffering from extreme anxiety right now. I guess it doesn't help that mine manifests in shortness of breath, gasping for aid and chest tightness :-( I am just coming out of an anxiety attack which lasted 4 days. 4 days of feeling I will suffocate and pass out from lack of air :-(

I am slowly trying to reduce the amount of information I get and look at numbers and numbers only,. For me sensational media coverage of singled-out cases is not helpful at all :-( We have long known that death rate under 50 isn't exactly 0 but it is very low. While it is heartbreaking to look at the faces of people who'd passed, I prefer to look at the overall picture and the amount of recoveries. But still...anxiety gets the best of me, because we don't really know, we might be the unlucky ones.

I also worry what happens after all the restrictions are lifted. They can't keep a lockdown forever, it's not feasible. I am lucky that my financial situation remains the same as wfh for a large corporation but so many people aren't.

Whilst I understand the need to scare people right now into obedience, I would like the media to focus more on the actual facts and statistics because we will all end up getting it sooner or later and the way they're portraying it now is as it's 90% death rate when it's not even 1% in all likelihood...

Sorry for the rambling, I have got two brains right now - the one trying to rationalise everything and look at the situation calmly and one ridden with anxiety and fear so deep I have rubbed my hands dry from washing them so much :(

My neighbours are mid house move right now. I've just seen an older neighbour go in their house to chat to them and their young kids as they move. Then she came out and chatted up close with another elderly neighbour. Wtf. Spread stuff around why don't you hun.

I suffer the same and today I don’t feel good at all. Sending you a hug xx

So nervous for the 5pm announcement about self employed workers!

My partner is a self employed tradesmen/ sub contractor he is still working! A well know kitchen fitting company who fits for have said they need to carry on to get customers houses to a liveable condition... which is completely acceptable. Customers have been amazing to him and those he works with.

I think the government assumes that those that are self employed are wealthy doing everything in cash. Some probably do in fact I know of one that fiddles the books so they never pay tax!

However I can ensure everyone my other half is not like that at all. Tax is paid every month through the CIS scheme and NI. All receipts are kept. We are not entitled to universal credit due to me working even though not at present due to store finally closing, I only work part time around the children.

His self assessments every year are spot on so I’m praying honesty will pay off.

oh :( Big virtual hug back xxx It is awful isn't it. I almost wish I had anxiety stomach than this, it is very scary especially now. I don't even have anything to say to make it better because I know it's impossible it has to pass on its own. I have been prescribed beta-blockers for it and I take it when it gets very bad but even then it only helps so much.

This was the story I read and it really upset me. It got him so quick 😢

It is very sad and shows how quickly he succumbed. It said he attended a stag party on the Saturday, I wonder if any of the other attendees have symptoms. I have read a few reports that there are a few reported cases from people that attended Cheltenham.
