Morning guys

my gut says that we’ll likely follow suit of everyone else and it’s been drip fed to us - social distancing - school closures - lockdown so I presume over the next day or so we’ll have something to say there will be a 14/15-30 day lockdown of some form perhaps.

people are mostly adhering to it but it’s not enough is it? everyone must do if not it’s a moot point isn’t it?
This is off a Facebook friend. She also thinks we need to remain open, travel and mingle in order for everyone to catch the virus and kill it off that way.

My friend sent me this quite ridiculous video of fighting in a Tesco’s in my area. It’s always worse somehow when you see madness happening nearby, I know that’s illogical.
FYI she’s not the user “shabba racks” nor does she know them and neither of us understand the caption or what “Smokey sets” means.
Oh and it looks warped but that’s because it’s a phone video in portrait-it’s fine when you play it

This is why we don’t get told the truth about aliens 🤣 👽

I mean yeah I see her logic but people seem to forget in a pandemic everyone catches it and the whole reason we’re trying to flatten the curve is so simply people can be treated and not left to perish in a car park 🤦🏻‍♀️

But for example I live on a small estate and there’s a little coop 5 mins away.... we are following the rules but I cannot see the army or police patrolling around here when it’s not the city and stopping people from nipping out. We have a lot of woodland, it will be impossible to control without compliance from people.

Also, I wonder if Sunak is on the speech tonight to clarify that they will pay wages for x amount or reverse taxes as we go into lockdown?
Or, he says this today and tomorrow it’s announced, which ensures businesses can let staff go home/work from home/lockdown without the excuse of work as such?

This is why we don’t get told the truth about aliens 🤣 👽
The latest conspiracy that Iv heard is. Seemingly there’s an asteroid that will NARROWLY miss planet earth ( distance is earth to moon ) in April, that’s why all governments have come up with the Coronavirus to control the population making sure everyone is home “ just encase “ 😂 I personally thing it’s an alien invasion 😂

Right I've seen the key worker list this morning. I my self as classed as a key worker so will still be able to send me child to school. However, I have alternate childcare avaliable. In a less busy capacity. Schools will be housing the children on some of the most at risk workers. Drs, shop workers, nurses and many more front line staff which will be exposed to the virus, then passing it on with out knowing. (Thank you for your services, this is not a dig at you❤)
I really hope, if you can you will keep your children away from schools. To keep the risk alot lower.
Stay safe xx

I’m not one for asking for advice on forums, but research isn’t giving me any answers so I wanted to see what your thoughts are in my situation.

I live with my husband, 3 kids and also my Mum who is coming up to 80 and isn’t in the best of health. We both work in jobs that aren’t likely to shut down throughout this and I’m All I’m reading about is how we shouldn’t leave children with elderly relatives, but obviously with living with my mum we can’t stay away from her anyway. Should we stop working too so the whole family can self isolate? I’m so confused and don’t know what to do for the best 😩

People saying we aren't going into lock down because the government said so the other day when last week they told us schools wouldn't be closing and a week later they did. Surely now, you'd realise don't believe everything they say?
Things are changing all the time, doesnt mean it wont change in future. We could all see it coming.

Very important message I have copied and pasted:

In case anyone is panicking...

To all my civvie mates who are panicking over the military "going on the streets".

This is normal during any emergency where the civil authorities require extra manpower to operate. It’s called MACA, Military Assistance to Civil Authorities.

Basically military personnel from all 3 services are utilised to assist the likes of the police(static duties/non enforcement) hospitals(medics/doctors/paramedics) Fire brigade, even down to drivers of vital supplies(oxygen/oil).

We are not there to put the country under martial law.

We are not there to shoot people with 6 bog rolls and 12 loafs of bread.

We are there to assist/help. Same as what we did during the floods, the fireman strike and the foot and mouth outbreak.

Please stop posting "troops on the streets" panic inducing rubbish.

We are here to help stop this virus.👨‍🔬👩‍🔬👩‍🚒👨‍🚒👮‍♀️👮‍♂️💂‍♀️💂‍♂️

I saw this on the military wives group I’m part of on Facebook and thought it would be good to share here in case you wanted to share elsewhere. Apparently someone asked if they were entitled to it as they are ex-forces 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
It’s not an ideal situation people but millions of people are affected by it too...but please think about the teachers!

I live directly opposite a school, and this week, less and less pupils and parents have been turning up, expecting to see very little attending today. yesterday gave me quite a chuckle though, was sitting in the living room and could hear a group of kids chanting "let us out! let us out! let us out!" looked out into the yard and there's a big circle of them holding hands going round in a circle, they sounded and looked like they were having fun though...ahhh to be young and naïve :(

A few reasons to be optimistic :)

4% bounce on the FTSE, maybe it is believable that it could be under control in 12 weeks.

8 vaccines are entering tests.

Rapid diagnostic tools coming soon hopefully to identify all the people that are carriers and asymptomatic. That would really help to stop the spread as they think up to 50% have no symptoms and this is why the virus is so "good" at spreading.
