After the bump in the road that was Brian Park, Corrie in 1999 had been pretty good.

It remains that way (in my opinion) until around 2003/2004, when it all started to get a bit silly with over the top sensationalism, over realism.

As you say the modern day Corrie certainly is a shadow of Corrie in its heyday, or even 1999.

To be fair, it wouldn’t make sense for Raquel to come back even if Sarah wanted to - Curly is long gone, Rovers have changed hands so many times and most of the cast are dead or left. I can’t imagine her coming back to visit Ken Barlow and Rita.
 
That must of been Corrie's first and only two hander.

Have there been any other two hander episodes? I can't recall any!

Not unless Alice turns up in Weatherfield.

It would then give an excuse for Curly and Raquel to visit.
 
I’m about a week behind but I adore Jack and Vera and their relationship with Tyrone 🥰. Vera didn’t want anything to do with the dog the other week but when the dog got ran over she was on pins waiting to find out if she was ok, so cute.
I used to fancy Jez first time round 😂. Leanne is a horror to Toyah.
Looking forward to Martin’s affair kicking off but feel a bit sorry for Gail.
I would love for them to bring back some old characters for a big event, I reckon they might do it when Ken gets killed off (will it ever happen?!)
The scene the other day when Alma was in the flat with Mike was sad when Linda came in and said she’d chucked Alma’s stuff out, what a complete witch. I loved Alma, lovely lady and classy! I remember crying my eyes out when they killed her off 😥

I think that’s what’s making me enjoy watching them now, all the characters I didn’t appreciate at the time. Jack and Vera, Betty, Norris, Hayley and Roy, Alma - they’re all fantastic. I know we say “they don’t make em like that any more” but it’s true.
 
I’m currently watching the Curly & Raquel episode is it me or is Alice a bit advance for a two and a half year old would she understand your dad bought me a star and respond what a lovely present and say he had a lovely face?
I vaguely remember watching this episode and thinking it was boring I was eight at the time though.
