Alma is one of the best characters in it - funny, kind, she plays trying to hold herself together while obviously falling apart so well and they never wrote her doing anything weird to make a storyline work, like they did with Rita giving the Kanin away.
She brought a bit of class to things too, the recent scene in the flat when she’s having a cup of tea with Mike and Linda came in…both great actresses who showed just how different the characters were.

And I would never have thought Amanda Barrie was mid-60s in these scenes.

She was so dignified until she walked out the door then the heartbreak on her face 😭 loved Alma & liked her in Bad Girls too playing a con artist drunk druggie 🤣
 
Been reading this thread for a while and couldn’t understand what people meant about Ashley saying Maxine’s name wrong until I saw this :)


When Sergei turned up and said to Ashley that he couldn’t wait to meet his wife Maxine I said to myself, surely Sergei should have pronounced it Maxeem like how Ashley does as he’s only heard Ashley’s pronunciation of the name
