Well she definitely didn't get one in an afternoon. It annoys me how lazy and unprofessional she is in every aspect of her life. I hope she gets reported for this and has to finally face some consequences for once
Oh 100%. No DBS, no documents, no thought. Greedy greedy greedy.Well she definitely didn't get one in an afternoon. It annoys me how lazy and unprofessional she is in every aspect of her life. I hope she gets reported for this and has to finally face some consequences for once
it costs money to get a DBS (around £70)… she won’t get one because it isn’t #giftedOh 100%. No DBS, no documents, no thought. Greedy greedy greedy.
Sorry, completely OT but why tf did Joel share that video of someone grooming their privates on a train
Congratulations you've just passed the class. Here's a t-shirt! That'll be another £70From the Carrie Wiki
Acting through song and the free tshirt you get when you book.
I don’t remember her really interacting with Carrie at all. However his other sister commented fairly regularly on Carries posts, even ones not relating to Oliver. She also posted pics including Carrie etc and from a very outside perspective they seemed to get along .Wow the shade.
I wonder if she ever commented on Carrie’s posts.
Carrie strikes me as super high maintenance so I can imagine Oli did lots of soothing and cosseting and talking down from the ledge
Yeah but you would never be left alone with a basic check. The actors/crew would be ‘under supervision’ of those in charge of the kids who would have an enhanced DBS and a chaperone license. You can actually get a basic DBS certificate which isn’t job specific for about £20 and lasts about a year and a half. It is only a basic check that you need as an actor- but if the basic one does flag anything up then you have to get the more in depth one. I know this mainly because I have done background work before and was told what I needed to do when the changes were implemented in the industry. Actors getting DBS checks was worked into all actors and crew contracts (including extras) in 2016! As actors are self employed they are able to apply for DBS without going through an employer. The actor applies through the government website and when they receive the certificate they send a link to their agent who is able to confirm with casting directors their actors DBS certificates. This should be the type of DBS Carrie has and she’ll be reminded by her agent when her current DBS is about to expire. The performer must apply and pay for the DBS themselves but as self employed they are able to get their money back as it is an expense they have to pay in order to work. The main reason behind the acting industry implementing DBS checks for everyone is safeguarding children.
Didn't she see Oliver in frozen then ditched his family and ended up with other people? I think it's in a YouTube videoI don’t remember her really interacting with Carrie at all. Random question but did Carrie ever go to Warrington with Oliver, like at all? Because I honestly can’t remember her ever going?
So I had a quick flick through Instagram to see if anyone else was offering this type of thing. And the algorithm worked again and threw up this guy on the first try. Now reading his info on his site this is a TRAINED WEST END musical director and teacher who has coached at all the top musical theatre schools, worked on countless shows, and on countless audition panels offering basically the same thing and more with way more info and he charges £55 per HOUR for face to face and much less for online.
Oh and he gives his CV, experience and what he offers. Nowhere is he asking his clients what to doHe clearly knows what he’s doing and is more legit.
£45 for 30 mins for Someone who isn’t trained either in the job she’s in or to teach?
She’s a joke compared to this.
Scammie ‘Money for old Rope’ Fletcher?who does she think she is?!
Oh definitely! I just explaining that to get any work as an actor or as crew in theatre, film or tv you have to have at least a basic dbs check which Carrie most definitely would have had to apply and pay for herself. I agree that Carrie doing zoom lessons after one idea and a post on Instagram is bordering on dangerous and is completely ill advised. I hope Carrie is reading this thread and realises how utterly stupid she is for even thinking she start giving zoom lessons when she has had no training, has no plan and hasn’t a clue what she is doing! Carrie asking her followers what they want to see from a lesson is the biggest red flag because no self respecting teacher would do that. If anything the question should be other way round.Yeah but you would never be left alone with a basic check. The actors/crew would be ‘under supervision’ of those in charge of the kids who would have an enhanced DBS and a chaperone license.
She will need an enhanced DBS for this.
Think you succinctly explained in one paragraph what she should be considering. Maybe you should set yourself up tomorrow when you get a free second climb on the bandwagon. Sounds like a fast way to make an easy buck.Oh definitely! Carrie, how do you structure your lessons? How are you going help me with the material? Are you going to help with warm ups and vowel placement- which is just as important as the acting? Or are you going off the idea of ‘you can already sing, let’s just focus on the emotion and context of the song? Don’t ask me the questions that you are supposed to be answering as my teacher!
My guess is that any interest that post generated tonight will be dealt with privately after reading here. If she has any sense at all I don’t think we’ll be seeing any more about it on Instagram.Anyone want to take one for the team and email her management?
I actually am a singing teacher! I alternated my singing grades between classical and musical theatre starting at grade 5 when I was a teenager singing opera up to grade 8. I’m not the best piano player but I got my grade 6 in early 20s and try to play for at least 20minutes every day. My lessons focus on warm ups and relaxing tensions in the jaw, tongue etc in the first 10mins of the lesson and then we work on a song of their choice which I help them sing through and we work on the placement (do you need to be in chest, mix or head voice and at which sections of the song?). We break it down into sections and revisit warmups depending on the style of the song throughout the lesson to get the most out their voice. It depends on their strengths and weaknesses on how long we spend on one song. If it’s a particularly difficult song we can spend a few weeks breaking down 1 song. Or if they are on particularly good form we can do 1 song in 1 lesson. It’s entirely dependent on how their voice is on the day, how they respond to different warm ups etc. I love using my students as Guinea pigs trying out new warm ups, vowel and jaw placements that I have picked up at workshops or my own singing lessons with my teacher. I can imagine Carrie completely panicking at the idea of actually prepping a lesson or explaining to a student what to do with their voice while singing. Acting through song and vowel placement should be worked on together because you can learn a song but if the vowel sound is wrong you have to start at the beginning again. If anything the vowels and placement are the first thing you should be thinking about. Learn to physically sing the song first without worrying about the acting. Once the placement is in your muscle memory, then you can put the acting in. Because then you can properly play with the song without worrying about whether you sound like Kermit!Think you succinctly explained in one paragraph what she should be considering. Seriously considering changing career at this point.
