Yeah, let's stick a legendary radio broadcaster into a dead 8-10pm Sunday evening slot in order to accommodate a dick with an ego.
Another honking BBC radio 2 decision.
Lol Bobby! But titter ye not. I can think of no better person to refresh Pick of the Pops than Steve Wright with his energetic style. And Gambo's a class act who may build a Sunday evening audience Radio 2 has never previously enjoyed. I think it's a clever move by Radio 2 and also stops Steve taking offf to Greatest Hits which would be a disaster for them. Sorry to be boring - your answer was much funnier than mine :p!

Frankie Howerd lives ! 😁
I like Steve & Gambo, but on a Sunday evening I could not possibly forego my weekly dose of Antiques Roadshow.
Radio 2 have been desperate to find something for Steve for a while now.

Has Arielle been sacked then? It would be a shame if so. I had radio 1 on in the car the other day and some of the new DJs are so bad it hurts. One girl was doing a board masters tickets giveaway and said “apparently they do some surfing or something” 🤦‍♀️

I said the same to the Lord yesterday. I actually feel bad as I'm sure she's very good but I just miss the car crash that is Jeremy Vine and his constant unintentional hilarity.

I'll see myself out.

Jeremy is hilarious, a real life Alan Partridge some days and he makes me laugh out loud with some of his comments and song choices after controversial topics. I did end up listening to Tina today and she actually handled Juliet Casciano very well. They must have the woman on speed dial whenever they need an angry, emotional pensioner to fill 5 minutes with a rant.

the current group of radio 1 djs (greg james and maybe matt edmonton/jordan north aside) are absolutely godawful. and none of them seem to be trusted with their own show? everyone is in pairs or groups of three.

arielle was the best female dj they had by a mile. her behaviour was inappropriate but i can’t see it’s worth being sacked for.
