I was thinking the same thing!! He must still be mentally exhausted from having to wake up at 10:30am and "catching up on emails"! :sleep: Perhaps he is still recovering from the last Florida trip with Max and Alex? Maybe he is going through DCL Chicken Tender Withdrawals?

But isn't it usually next to his bed?

Unless of course he's moved his furniture around. But that seems like too much effort for him

I thought this! The title implies a secret relationship whereas it sounds like everyone in Cadam’s life knows immediately and then there’s a minor plot point that’s immediately resolved about Flynn coming out at school but his family also know he’s gay anyway

(but then it sounds like there’s not much plot anyway, just an assortment of scenes of his gay high school fantasy)

I was just about to post the very same thing. And then he "borrowed" from other works: Finn's mom and the teacher from Heartstopper, the two female friends from Love, Simon...

I've never read Simon vs. the Homo sapiens Agenda, but I have seen both the movie and the series, and liked them both. But the thing is, when those stories get to their happy endings, we're there with the characters because we've seen what it took to get to that point. Literally nothing in this book surprised me.
 
I'm putting more thought into this than it deserves, and my eyes had pretty much glazed over at points so maybe I missed it, but why even did Finn need to be closeted in the first place? Okay, so when he came out to his family it didn't go so well, but they already knew and his father wasn't living with them. Which means that he had to keep it a secret in his new school because....?

That's just one of the many plot issues. There's no thought or structure to the whole thing. Adam thought 'he has to be closeted' so he is, but didn't spend a second thinking why that might be.

Honestly I think Adam just wanted to write revenge on people who had wronged him at school, write lustful comments about his dream man (who has no personality, which tracks tbf), and show how hard done by he is for not having some massive school love story (that most people don't get).
