Actually Honest - skincare and makeup reviews #4

I got two meet cute and Epanoui 😂 meet cute is pretty close to CT pillow talk Epanoui is a slightly darker pink on me.

My lips aren't as dried out and it's easy not to duck up the application but if I had to choose it would be Epanoui

Cack handed explanation by yours truly again

Not at all.
I do like Rose Official and I feel that Epanoui will be the balm version of that.

@50sGirl

Went I went to London and went in selfridges I made a Beeline for the Pat McGrath counter. All the motherships I saw out were very glittery, I don't mind some glitter/shimmer but found it to be too much for me,

You know what I'm like with Lisa's make up ...I've caved and bought the balm embrace and love it she might as well have my sodding bank details

I’m super excited for my Lisa Skin Tint to arrive. I’ve bought it blindly but expecting good things

Her skin tint is absolutely amazing the most worn item in my make up bag for years. You can build coverage wack it with a brush I just use fingers. Make sure you give it a really good shake too. There's a Lisa Eldridge thread in the rave about section

You ought to check out Lisa’s thread in the rave section on here.
Her Skin Tint is lovely.

Great minds and all that 😘

I'm going to be in Singapore soon and was going to check out what brands they had here. From previous comments I was going to look for the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and some Cosrx serum but I'm a bit lost on different types of Cosrx. Any recommendations gratefully received. My logic is that if stuff is a couple of quid cheaper I can just try a few bits. Everytime I look to buy the BoJ sunscreen in the UK I get sucked into putting more stuff in my basket to get free delivery/a discount etc. Thanks

I've only tried the propolis serum from Cosrx and it was quite forgettable. I'd like to try their peptide serum, that's usually around £27 on UK sites and £12 on Stylevana. I have the Mixsoon Bean Essence instead of the Cosrx snail mucin one.

Hope you have a wonderful trip 😊

I know cosrx is but cannot remember if BOJ is available at Guardian and Watson’s. But you can get a huge array of Japanese sunscreens like skin aqua, biore, anessa etc. I really rate Japanese sunscreens.

Not sunscreen but Hada labo is another brand many people like to stock up from Watson’s.

Welcia is also nice to check out. Loads of Japanese skincare and beauty.

I personally do not rate BOJ sunscreen. It gave me skin texture. I used up a whole tube before realising that was causing the issue. The texture went away the moment I stopped using it. YMMV.

In terms of cosrx recommendations, I’ve tried loads years ago. I really like the Original Clear Pad.
Cosrx is a bit basic for my skincare needs though (I am older). These days I go for roundlab, sulwhasoo, isntree etc. These are not available at local chemists. Sulwhasoo is stocked at Sephora.

The changi airport duty free is run by a Korean conglomerate so there’s loads of Korean brands like sulwhasoo and dr jart. I always buy loads from duty free before I depart Singapore.

Again, YMMV! Have fun in Singapore!

Mine has arrived. Can’t wait to try it tonight!

Mine has come too! I have about 1/3 of my current one left. Let me know your thoughts ☺️

I normally just use before make up as I’m stingy. I think you’ll notice a difference on how your base applies. If you wear make up that is

I used a pea sized bit last night over sleep oil and it made my face feel really soft. It’s a bit richer than I’d normally wear for day but I thought I’d give it a go and used it over my Beauty Pie Youthbomb serum this morning and again, it felt really nice and my skin felt properly moisturised.

I got the untrasun spf 50 face based on some recommendations here. I like it and I'd like to stick with it, but I usually wear Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer and they just don't work together. Any other suggestions for light coverage? Maybe a bb cream would work better? It would work better if I could leave the ultrasun longer to soak in, but were talking about those slap it all on before work and school run mornings.

I used to use the ultrasun as my moisturiser then once it had a couple of minutes to settle, I'd use a serum foundation or skin tint where I needed it. It worked well together with no pilling, but that sunscreen made me look greasy. Shame because it was one of my favourites.

I use the anti-pigmentation Ultrasun spf50 on clean skin. Let it settle in for several minutes and then apply Lisa Eldridge’s skin tint for light coverage. The finish is non-shiny.
