My birthday is coming up anyway… so early order placed by the OH! I went for the Milk Setting Spray, CT flawless finish and Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint. Totally over foundations atm.

I think it was on the last thread that people were talking about SPF 50 and it not being great for your skin. I’d agree with that. A few weeks ago I was gardening a just grabbed the first bottle of suncream which happened to be SPF 50. For days afterwards I wanted to tear my skin off because it was so itchy, but had put it down to the gardening/hayfever. Anyway used it again and my skin in on fire again with itchiness! It’s the only thing I’ve changed. Have had to shower with cool water, used aloe Vera and taken antihistamine 😞 I’m absolutely fine with the same brand (Nivea) spf 30 and I use a different one on my face.
Oh interesting! I think it was me who asked about it because I’d read it a few times on the internet that people thought they were getting burned or having prickly heat with 50 but not with 30. My chest tends to be a bit spotty when I come back from holiday, but I’ve always had quite spot prone skin despite teetering on the very edge of my 30s at this stage. My husband uses spf 30 (because I force him, he’d probably use 15 if left to his own devices 🤣) and gets on fine with it and actually tans, but he has the sort of complexion that tans. I do not!

Hello, I'm looking for a really good setting mist for my make up. Currently wearing charlotte tilbury foundation and find it stays really well just want some extra hold for these warmer days

I just ordered the Milk Hydro Grip one. I’ve read reviews of it being way better than the CT one. The other one that’s apparently the best is One Size from Sephora, but that’s mattifying which isn’t for me.

Has anyone done their own lash lift and tint at home with a kit?. Honestly think it might save me time and money just doing it myself but not sure which one to try.

I've done it a few times and had mixed results. Firstly I bought a cheap kit off amazon. Needless to say it was useless. Then I left it a while and bought kits from sassy saints and luxe. Both worked well. Really good lift that lasted about 6 -8 weeks and the tint lasted about 4. You do only get what you have anyway to work with. Which sounds obvious, but my results were so different to a friend's as my lashes were longer (I used the smallest form though as I wanted drama!) and hers were much shorter. She still thought hers looked better than previously though, even if I couldn't see much difference. Mine looked like I was wearing mascara even when I wasn't. I'm a fan and although it's a faff, once you are used to it, it speeds up the application time. .

My advice is take the extra time to fan your lashes out and give a splayed look. The way they look during the treatment is how they will look when done.

Recommendations for the best foundation for dry skin? Mine has flared up again (currently using Mac studiofix) plus I’m due to start Roaccutane soon

I’m using a tip I read somewhere. I keep a tub of moisturiser on my bedside table. When I wake up I slather it on, don’t even get out of bed, wash face, etc.
It’s supposed to replace the moisture that dried out overnight, got absorbed by the pillowcase.
It stays there while OH has his shower, gets me a cuppa.
Then it gets washed off in the shower and I do my usual morning skincare regime.
It seems to have helped.

Thank you! Will give this a go

Thank you!. I think I'm going to give the luxe one a go. I had mine professionally done about 6 weeks ago and they still look ok. Just wanted to save money and hassle.

A silk pillowcase really helps with that too.

Has anyone used Pat McGrath eye shadows?
How do they compare to Natasha Denona and Lisa Eldridge please?
I’ve a 20% off for Cult beauty and I’m tempted…

@50sGirl

Went I went to London and went in selfridges I made a Beeline for the Pat McGrath counter. All the motherships I saw out were very glittery, I don't mind some glitter/shimmer but found it to be too much for me,

You know what I'm like with Lisa's make up ...I've caved and bought the balm embrace and love it she might as well have my sodding bank details

I’m on the hunt for a matte eyeshadow palette, I got rid of my ABH ones that were about 10 years old 🤣 but I want just a basic nude/brown toned one. I don’t wear eyeshadow often so don’t want a big palette.

Oo which colour did you go for?
I might use some of my Liberty balance and buy Epanoui.

I got two meet cute and Epanoui 😂 meet cute is pretty close to CT pillow talk Epanoui is a slightly darker pink on me.

My lips aren't as dried out and it's easy not to duck up the application but if I had to choose it would be Epanoui

Cack handed explanation by yours truly again
