Abortions just isn't the highest priority for anyone and they were foolish to base it all on the one issue. It was weird telling women to think about the potential abortions their daughters might want.

Whilst I have no doubt that millions of Republicans are ready for a female president, there are also many millions from very rich fundamentalist Christian evangelical groups who form part of the MAGA power base. There was a lot of celebration from these groups at Trump’s win, and as I’ve mentioned before, the hypocrisy is off the scale when it comes to how a man like Trump can be seen as a man of their traditional “Christian family values”, when a woman who had demonstrated the same behaviours for want of a better word would be torn apart for it.

Yep Trump is barely above an idiot. Yet somehow, someway he has taken what little brain power he has and turned it into a billion dollar fortune, pausing only along the way to sleep with a litany of beautiful women, and produced a number of attractive offspring. He then pivoted to another successful career in reality TV, and then a third successful career in politics, where he has established an army of millions of fanatical followers who would probably run through a brick wall for him. And at the last election attracted 74 million votes, more than the entire population of the UK. He’s about to start his second spell in the highest post it’s possible to get to in his third career. And all this based on so though an IQ.

And here’s us, with our dazzling insight and forensic analysis reduced to raging about it on Tattle Life. Go figure!

I mean, at least two of your above points about Trump also apply to Hitler so I’m not sure they are entirely indicative of a successful human being.

🤣 That’s debatable tbh. They would have been more attractive if they looked more like their mothers than him imo, but that’s not really relevant in an argument about who should run a country with considerable world influence . Are you really saying that looks and how many women you’ve bedded are an important factor in your ability to run a country? And if so, why?

Yes, that’s why he won the first time. I think something like 1 in 4 Americans was a fundie Christian in 2016. Fundamentalist christians believe in traditional, biblically defined roles for men and women. Pastors of churches reflected on the fact that he delivered what he promised.

He also nepo babied those children into jobs which they were wholly unsuitable and unqualified for so he could extract even more money from his grift because that's all he is, a grifter out t make as much money as possible in as short a time as possible. Fine (in most cases) if you're in private business but not if you're president of a country.
 
Musk's efficiency program is nothing new. Here in Europe in many countries we've been under austerity programs all in name of efficiency, advised by pricy external consultants applying entrepreneurial strategies. It mostly resulted in broken state services, uncapacited governments to react to an increasing number of challenges and economic growth has been slugish at best. It often does end being more expensive between the dysfuntionments brought by extreme cuts and private companies asking a lot of money to do what the state was doing but delivering a worse service. In order to reduce state spending you do need more insight to do it in a sensible way than just applying business practices.

As for people saying Biden is a hypocrite to welcome Trump at the white house for a peaceful transfert of power, don't they see it's exactly the same thing for Trump? For 4 years Trump claimed the elections were stolen, that the Democrats did a coup and suddenly he is all smiles with the one he has accused to be a usurpator. It's all theater. At least the Democrats are not undermining the democratic process the way the Republicans did it 4 years ago. Saying you think your opponent might be a threat for democracy because they factually didn't want to accept the results of an election is a different thing than accusing them of stealing an election without having anything to prove it

Trump has showed many times how frustrated he is by the limitations to his power imposed by the democratic tools in place in the US to prevent an abusive concentration of power. I am more worried of this aspect of his personality than his policies. He seems more focused at the moment to appoint loyal people to him than qualified people being able to tell him when he is a wrong. A good leader will want to hear criticism about their policies becase they are aware of their own limitations. After losing the elections in 2020 Trump didn't reflect on why he lost them. He has just doubled down his rhetoric and seems to be now on track of being even less willing to compromise. Time will tell if that's really beneficial to the US.

He graduated without honours from Wharton and one of his professors said “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had”.
He repeatedly accused Barack Obama ( who graduated with honours magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and in the top 10 per cent of his class ) of being a “terrible student”. He consistently demanded that Obama release his transcripts while refusing to release his own. In fact, Trump threatened to sue his former colleges if they ever revealed his grades.
So clearly a bigly genius. 🙄

Im not sure how “sleeping with a litany of beautiful women” qualifies him for anything, let alone the Presidency. He left his first wife, who said he raped her, for his second wife who he then left for his third wife, who he cheated on repeatedly, with a porn actress amongst others. Lucky Melania. He also commented on dating his own daughter. Oh, and he’s also a convicted rapist, who has boasted about grabbing women by their genitals.

He’s the only President in the history of the country to have been indicted on criminal felony charges. 91 of them.

Making comments about other people’s principles when you’re prepared to defend a man like that is a hell of a choice. Still, I’m sure all those lovely cheap eggs will help. 🙄

It makes him a 'high-T alpha male' of the sort that attracts the attentions of new First Lady Elonia as they are the attributes required for leadership, with an optional 'aneurotypical' that Musk applies to himself to get just that one 'feature' above the competition to be the winner.


Questions about Vivek and Elonia running this 'Department' that apparently isn't going to be an actual Department, but an external consultancy *called* sounds-like-a-crypto--that-musk-has-lots-of 'Department of whatever' which raises the next question of how much they will be charging for their services or if they will be doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.


And for just that extra bit of possibly-too-suspicious, wondering if we have the relationship the wrong way round and that Musk is not following but effectively owns Trump, hence esconcing himself at the palais de trompe to keep him on track and being in on rather more of those first phone calls than would be considered normal.


But otherwise no real surprises as such, Trump only needed to turn up and say 'same guy, same tit, but more'. All the campaign had to do then was hog the headlines, so well done to the Dems on that front, name-checking him almost every time they spoke...

I think Trump’s biggest problem is going to be the economy. There is a yewge debt problem. Like, unimaginable level. Dems have plastered over with printing money from thin air. It’s going to get ripped off and I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if there is a depression (not recession) in 2025

Didn’t he buy Twitter for $40ish billion, and thanks to his brilliant business mind and drive for efficiency its value plummeted by around 80%? Is that what he’s planning to do to America?

Zelenskyy has more than enough to deal with already ( Putin AND Boris Johnson popping in for a publicity visit every 5 minutes ), but there’s no way Musk is going to miss out on all those sexy zoom calls with an actual adult.

I think Musk viewed Twitter as a loss leader. It bought him access to confidential files including government involvement with social media, access to accounts, a platform with a ready made audience. Like it or not, X is a heavy hitter in terms of where people go for their news. By association he now has a place on US cabinet. I don’t think it was a stupid purchase.
