Yes but my great grandfather was the Pope. So that was important apparently.

Ah we do have that reputation like all them Cornish folk. Noticed it so much more when I came back from Brighton. There was a London thread a short while back that might be a good read!

I stayed with my sister for a week - so many potheads on the beach, but overall I really liked it. The buses were more expensive which I didn't expect. There were lots of homeless folk dotted mainly around the pier. My sister dyed her hair blue within two weeks of moving there so suits the place. Also it's the only place where I've seen a "beaware of the seagulls" sign.

I hate Those fb groups where they’re either:

chucking a load of paint on a really unattractive piece of furniture and calling it “shabby chic” (shabby tit) trying to flog it for £300

or

Chucking a load of paint on a very beautiful antique piece of furniture just because it doesn’t fit the grey colour scheme.

Lots of people in the South of England are ignorant when it comes to anything north of the M25 - but just expect that everyone will have an instant inbuilt knowledge about whatever they are talking about that relates to the South. For example if you mention a town or village in the Midlands or Yorkshire or anywhere in Scotland people in the south wouldn’t have any idea where you were talking about and would care even less but would automatically assume you’d know where some obscure train station is in Crawley just because

Agreed, my friends tv is huge and looks absolutely ridiculous in her tiny living room!
