I was surprised to see Daisy Buchanan sell quite a personal story / photos to iPaper on her sobriety, they can’t pay vast fees and she doesn’t need the money, did she just want the attention?

Also saw a comment on The Times today that suggested Stacey Duguid’s husband has a younger girlfriend now which explains some of the impetus behind a few of her posts lately.

That's been her wheelhouse since forever I think - sell a personal story and drum up interest in latest book. I think it's such a shame that young women basically only have this format of the soul-baring personal essay to fall back on for clicks.

This really wasn't a good look; came across so snide and pick me
Totally! I’m pretty neutral on the two films but why do you care if people are excited?

Also, I don’t agree with her saying “things get released together all the time!” They actually don’t, studios go to a lot of effort to avoid it. For example, when Marvel movies get released nothing goes against them.
The examples she cited, Jaws and Grey Gardens - very current! Very relevant! Very a chance to show how well read you are!

Exactly - bloody hell just let people be happy and excited and have some fun with a cultural moment! Isn't that her whole schtick with her podcast?! Jeez people need all the levity they can get these days. No need to snidely piss all over it.
Bang on about her example of media being released together too 🤣
I turned the venerable old age of forty this year but it's been many years since I grew out of the urge to publically declare my disdain for something that's obviously being enjoyed. I even teach my kids not to "yuck other people's yum" 😜

Shall we play LL bingo for their Barbie movie articles?
Beginning with a Barbie related anecdote from their childhood
Something about feminism
Comparing Ken to a boyfriend or one night stand they’ve had with loads of boring irrelevant details
Megan Nolan has an article like this, though she’s not one of the LLs, but LL adjacent

I recon she was on a massive comedown after her hen and in the horrors. Everything is stupid. Also, hangovers and the like post 35 or whatever age she is have the added charm of seeing yourself in the morning and your skin being all dehydrated etc and not 22 anymore and then she probs saw Margot looking as unbelievable as she does and all that pink and flipped.

Think the LLs don’t know what to do with barbie movie in general. Seems to basic to like it but they can’t criticise because of darling Greta.

Is Sophia Money-Coutts a lit luvvie? Either way, I had to share this somewhere. It‘s all bonkers, but the last line in the second screenshot is actually genius.
