What's so grating about these LLs and their feminist proclamations is that NONE of them have or have often ever had proper careers? Can't we have ONE who actually does a 9-6? Most women in the modern world work soooo hard :)

I find most people like the LL set truly believe that they work harder than the average person and sure, they may have a busy diary around publication time or when they are doing a 3 date tour but their day to day is nothing like average. PLUS, they get to work in a lovely creative industry where every choice to work is benefiting themselves. All well and good to turn down the odd (non disclosed) soon post in favour of spending a day with your baby (pandora) but it’s hardly sacrificing a huge chunk of pay to go to a 4 day week.

And they all seem to manage about 5 overseas trips a year so cannot be that under the pump.

Nothing is more of a nauseating cliche than writers complaining it is hard to write. For the LLs it is probably made worse by their social media addictions, lack of actual talent and barely concealed jealousy of one another.

I’d feel sorry for the editors, but I’ve never met anyone working in publishing who isn’t an upper-middle class, rah rah or head girl type.

Oh piss off.

They are only becoming more out of touch. I wonder if Panda’s ‘taking a step back’ is an attempt to be relatable to younger readers. There’s an article in the guardian today about ‘lazy girl jobs’ and how gen z are stepping back from hustle girl boss culture and trying to find jobs that pay them for doing little. I think there’s a huge generational difference in that regard and many of the lit luvvies will start looking (more) dated.
