I think a lot of the criticism is because he tends to play quite defensive, uninspiring formations and barely deviates from a few trusted players even when they're not playing at their best.

It does seem to be the way though that if we lost yesterday fans would have blamed Southgate, but when we win fans say the players did it despite Southgate 😅
 
Got a feeling Italy and Spain will get through tonight. They're just those types of teams who manage to scramble a win no matter how bad they play.

Would like it to continue to be a giant killers tournament though
 
This will probably age well, but why are Spain so incompetent when it comes to penalties!? It's embarrassing.

At least Simón is trying his best.
 
Today is the day! How is everybody feeling?

on my Facebook memories it came up that England were playing 3 years ago and that my nerves were shot to pieces 😂 I have a feeling that is what I will be like later.

I don’t drink but tomorrow, win or lose, I am sure that most of the country are going to be hungover 😂 I’m going for a meal with the fam so at least it should be quiet!
 
My children are bursting with excitement. It reminds me of me at Euro 96! I hope for their sakes England has a different outcome. Going to be a long seven (God willing, not ET or penalties!) hours until it is over.
