Two sets of twins killed in fire- mum arrested for neglect

It’s just so sad 😞
I didn’t want to judge because I don’t know the situation.
This week after the news about how baby Star passed away just weeks after hearing about the horrendous death of Little Arthur I’m really sick and worried about how little children are being neglected, abused and disregarded 😓
Something drastic needs to change all children should be entitled to a loving and safe environment !!
I totally agree. It's been a heartbreaking few weeks with news of all these poor children. It's too much to bear. Poor, poor babies. Rest in peace, you deserved so much more.

One witness said she strolled back smoking but another witness said she was on her knees trying to do CPR.

Just seen a newspaper say it was Christmas lights that started the fire on a door but then another paper said the fire officer hasn't released his official findings yet.

I read it as the neighbour was on her knees trying to do CPR, not the mum

I’ve just been on the local ‘Nextdoor’ app, and I’m surprised at how many people are saying how they shouldn’t judge. You don’t know what state she was in, young children PND, blah blah. She left 4 babies on their own for at least an hour and a half to go ‘shopping’

I’ll be surprised if it was Christmas lights that had set fire.

That is what I thought initially about the neighbour doing CPR but I read again (the Sun article) and it comes across as a list of different neighbours saying what they saw. It is confusingly written though so I am not sure

I’ve just re read. Fire happened just before 7pm, she got back between 8.30-9pm, someone (I think neighbour) was doing CPR for a minute before the paramedics turned up. I don’t think it was mum. Paramedics wouldn’t take that long. The hospital is literally up the road- just added more or the story from the paper x

ah I missed that! jesus. Shocking that passing strangers seemed more bothered than the mum?!

-It is all over Facebook and the amount of mum-huns who ain't got a GCSE between them defending her is sickening. You can not ever ever defend or excuse leaving children of their ages!

There’s a difference between having sympathy for a single mother who had four babies in less than two years, and trying to excuse what happened, isn’t there? A really big difference. Makes you wonder what all these women do themselves if they’re trying to convince the world that leaving those children unattended was OK. That’s the scary thing.

Its incredibly heartbreaking the 4 wee boys have lost their lives. Obviously stories are now coming out about the mum. No doubt shop cctv will play a major role in this.

However as other people have said, a single mother who's children have died after being left alone and the police are quick off the mark. But 2 middle class Dr's admit to leaving their 3 children alone in an unlocked apartment in a forgien country, are still walking around like they're the victims!!!

If this lassie has left her kids alone for extended periods, yes she deserves to be charged. But I doubt any sentence will compare to losing her children.

I live on that road I know her and the boys. She was out and had left them upstairs in the bedroom whilst she went out. My neighbour helped give them cpr she was no where to be seen. She’s being portrayed as this fantastic parent but there’s a lot that hasn’t come out. Right now i feel sorry for the kids dad and family. She doesn’t have my sympathy. The babies do.
They even still had their little coats on as there wasn’t even any heating in the house. Our community has been amazing and so has the school. I now have to spend this weekend explaining to my 4 year old son his friends have died.
She left them kids home alone for no reason.

I stood at my window for ages watching smoke coming from her house thinking good job no ones in as the house was already in darkness, I saw the fire brigade smashing her upstairs Back windows to get in and knowing this whole time them babies was already dead has made me feel like tit. No need for it. RIP the Quads. 💙💙💙💙

I hope you and your neighbour are ok - I can’t imagine what it must be like to be in such close proximity and see it all unfold. I live 5 mins up the road and my heart would break regardless of where these boys lived but it certainly hits different when it’s that close to home.

Words fail me with regards to the mother…I think everyone else has said it all really and I have nothing to say that will add to that conversation. My thoughts are solely with those boys

Although it sounds like if anything, their father has a good support network to help him through this tragedy as he sure as hell will need it.

I am genuinely heartbroken and shocked at this tragedy, I dont have kids myself but would never leave my siblings kids home alone even when some are older than the ages of these boys. My mum too never left me as a child and was super vigilant, heck I even worry about leaving my dog at times due to the spate of theft etc. It just simply isn't worth the risk imo. Sadly yet another horrific child case and right before Xmas too. I think there will be a lot more to come out about this case in the coming few weeks. Ill be very surprised if this is the first time they have been left, judging by the tone of early news reports.

Something needs to be done about the issue of child neglect in this country after recent events to prevent these tragedies from occurring.

So sorry to hear this, that must have been awful and for your children to wrap their heads around their little friends too 😔 I hope you and your neighbours are ok, it must have been pretty traumatic be in such close proximity to such a tragedy.

I expect it is the sort of incident that will affect those that were witness to it for the rest of their lives.

I was just thinking…
She went shopping for over an hour and a half. She was able to walk back with shopping bags. Now, if I was shopping for that long, I would be coming back with about 20 bags, and not being able to do the 10 minute walk back…

@BigBertha @StiflersMom , I hope you are both ok. I’m 10 minutes up the road and it has massively affected me, I don’t know how you both are being closer. My sons school even put a little prayer in their school newsletter yesterday 💔
