I think I see a line but I am not any sort of an expert on these things!
Thank you for using a spoiler

Does everyone test for ovulation with the first wee of the day? I thought that was not advisable as it’s very concentrated?
---
It’s not about concentration, the hormone isn’t released until mid morning and it takes a few hours to filter down, do the most accurate readings are early afternoon

Oh you’re welcome. I’m just getting to grips with using them so I’m really glad it worked!

Currently CD14 and this is the strongest line so far, does this look like peak or at least close to peak? Am I best off DTD both tonight and tomorrow?

We are new to TTC (conceived first month of trying back in May but then had a miscarriage at 7 weeks) and back on the horse (so to speak) properly this month. I’ve been using ovulation strips and the clear blue digital test. I use the Flo app which has been very reliable in predicting my fertile window. Obviously anxious about it all and paranoid that we aren’t doing it at the right time. My husband struggles with being able to DTD “on demand” - TMI but he needs to be fully in the mood, feeling romantic, calm, not too full, not too drunk, not tired or stressed 🤣 it’s a bit like Goldilocks at the mo. Worried when you read you should do it 5-6 days in a row and that’s just not us.

This was what my lines looked like when I think I peaked. I was getting bogged down on my line getting as dark as the control line and was feeling a bit deflated but it doesn’t seem like it’s always the case. I’m finding all this ovulation testing a drain tbh and it’s only my first month doing it😂my darkest line did coincide roughly with my highest BBT so I’m just in the 2WW. 🙄

Glad to know! Hahah it’s my first cycle ovulation testing too and it definitely is a drain 😂 Fingers crossed for us 🤞❤️

I feel that! My husband is the same! We had a loss in April. I’m sorry about yours 🫂 A nurse at the fertility clinic we go to said it’s best to aim for every other night because every night can impact sperm quality.

I was always told this but I understand it has now been disproven.
So long as they have ‘normal’ quality and count, it doesn’t decrease in terms of fertility doing it daily.
This is just one study, there are lots of you google.

Dipping my toe (lightly) back into this thread. We have been TTC for nearly 3 years, had a chemical over 18 months ago and nothing since! I’ve really struggled mentally with it not quite working out for us and largely avoided anything TTC related for quite a while, but I’m going to give it a shot before asking for professional help early next year.

does anyone use the clearblue ovulation kit? Are they any good? I bought them just to try and track my ovulation a bit (I’m an irregular cycle gal) and I’ve received my first smiley face today…by my reaction you’d think I’d got a bfp! 😂

Your husband sounds like my partner, we just aren't that regular, and I can't bring myself to tell him 'but it's one of my best predicted fertile days" as I don't want to kill the vibe or put pressure on him.
Here's hoping you get your BFP soon.

I’ve spent quite a long time with MrDragName explaining what the tests mean, the ovulation window, etc. I mean, im still getting my head around it myself so it’s not like im some expert! It’s tricky isn’t it / because in order to not be too full, too drunk, too keen to watch the TV, what have you, you have to know there is a reason to not have an extra drink or two/second helpings of dinner/ forget to series record something. We talked about this tonight and he said he would rather know when the window is/how the ovulation tests are going because then he can avoid eating extra snacks or not reach for the wine or whatever it might be. Hopefully you can find a balance between him not feeling like a performing seal and you not missing the window of opportunity? I said to MrDragName that it was, of course, always ok to say no, but he doesn’t have a particular issue with having sex ‘on demand’ and I can see how that is a little more challenging to the situation!

Sorry for your loss ❤️
Your husband sounds like mine, it’s so frustrating and adds to the stress 😭

I got my first flashing smiley with the Clear Blue digital ovulation test today which is exciting 🤞🏼

Thanks ladies. It’s nice to hear others are in the same boat. He’s on board with understanding the testing and results and the window, it’s just striking that balance between the pressure to get it on with the clock for the window counting down. All in all another pressure that all of us just don’t need! I wish I’d been taught in school that you only have 4-5 days a month where you can conceive rather than thinking it’ll happen any time you go near a boy’s Willy 🤣🤣

Hello ladies! Thought I’d jump on to this thread as we’ve decided to start TTC. Fertile window is due to start tomorrow so got myself some ovulation tests to get going. We have a 2.5 year old and feel like I was all clued up on this before but have forgot everything!

I use it and I like it… it may be less precise in theory but it puts less pressure on. As you said it shows you the flashing smiley or the permanent one. Once you get the permanent one it shows you that face for 24 hours and says don’t test again. So you know it’s go-time!! I find with the strips there’s so much guess work. That being said, I’m very new to this so others probably think differently.

I've been using the easy@home ovulation strips but thinking about using the clearblue ones. The problem is my cycle is irregular, one month it can be 34 days the next 62 days so how would I know when to start using them?

I can’t remember the exacts but it does give you a guideline! I’m the exact same and for me it said to start using 5 days after my last period. I used to use the easy@home ones and never really saw any variation in the LH levels but I guess there must be if I went from nothing to a flashing smiley on the clearblue!

I got them on a flash deal on Amazon so may be worth keeping an eye out coming up to Black Friday!

Has anyone ever had ovulation bleeding? I’m not testing with OPKs or anything yet but my cycles are luckily like clockwork and I can pretty much tell when I ovulate by CM and cramps.
The apps are a bit off by a couple of days but I’m certain I ovulated on Sunday - DTD and then woke up Monday with really light spotting just once and then nothing else.
I did Google and it says it’s possible but rare. Partner and I are limited when we can DTD and I’d hate if the stars had aligned with my ovulation day and him being home and then actually the bleeding means something else and it means I’m out 😫

We are in a similar position to you I think. Pregnant in May, missed miscarriage in July, trying again now. My partner is also feeling the pressure of the window and timing and I get it! I’ve decided this month to not tell him and see how we go. Hoping for our rainbows xx
