Had a doctors appointment on Wednesday to discuss my extremely irregular periods (off pill for 1.5 years, 2 periods in that time which were 29 days apart so a “normal” cycle but nothing other than that). Before that I was on the pill for years and had only had 1 natural period at 13 before they stopped (went on pill at 17).

Blood work and ultrasound all came back normal so no diagnosis of PCOS (I suffer with hair loss and some weight issues too).

Said that it might have just been that the tests were done on days my levels were all normal, and cysts can come and go so it’s just that they don’t currently have the evidence to diagnose me.

We’re currently “not not trying” for a baby, so doctor just said to go back when I am ready and they can give me some help to get pregnant (I believe it’s a medication to help you ovulate?).

I’m so frustrated. I know I have PCOS but no diagnosis is hard to hear. So worried about my chances of ever being a mummy 😭 my blood was screened for absolutely everything, there was about 3 pages of results, and absolutely everything was healthy and normal so why isn’t my body doing what it should☹

Don’t know whether to try and get the tests redone just so I have a proper diagnosis (they were done in that 29 day cycle so when my body was actually doing what it should for the first time in forever!). A diagnosis won’t necessarily change anything but maybe it would help me mentally.
Hair loss would make me look to your thyroid. The reference range is so wide you could still not be functioning optimally, your best bet would be to take a copy of the results to a nutritionist, the nhs isn’t interested in fixing the issue

Had a chemical pregnancy last month ☹️ it brought back a lot of the emotions from my stillbirth

Today I’m 6 DPO and anxious to test too soon. Trying to wait it out

I thought thyroid too but they checked that as part of my blood work. Definitely going to look elsewhere as the doctor just didn’t seem interested in giving me an answer. Thank you!

My plan to change my ovulation is working! I upped my intake of progesterone raising foods and supplements and this month I’ve changed from my usual day 19 ovulation to day 16! This now potentially gives me a 12 day luteal phase, hopefully it’s long enough to get that implantation going 🤞🏻

Hi there, stumbled across this thread and I’ve got PCOS, diagnosed as a teen almost 20 years ago. Not sure if the way they diagnose has changed but my blood work was always frustratingly fine, as were my ovaries when they did scans. But because I had more than 3 other symptoms (irregular periods, facial hair growth and being overweight- I didn’t have acne which I believe is another symptom) they diagnosed me. As someone said, hair loss might be thyroid but normally with PCOS you have excessive hair growth.
I really hope you get the answers you’re looking for, I would def push for other tests at different times of the month and a referral to a specialist.

I was going to say the same. The doc explained it to me like this: A syndrome is a group of symptoms. If you have the symptoms, you have the syndrome, even if you don’t have the visible cysts on the ovaries. Whether that’s still their thinking or not, I don’t know.

Gutted, I genuinely thought this month was it. I even told my OH and Mum I felt pregnant (last time I had symptoms before missed AF) and checked rough due dates I was that convinced. I had all the symptoms, particularly tiredness, heavy swollen boobs, loss of appetite, but I’ve just got AF.
After thinking I’d missed my peak apparently it happened day 16 which made the app adjust my cycle to 29 days. I thought I had 6 days yet but looking at it, today is day 25 which would fit with my average cycle so really it’s bang on time, I just didn’t realise. And to top it off, now I’m worrying why I’ve felt so crap 😥

TTC sucks.

How did you manage to do this please, I think this is what my issue is but docs haven’t said anything

I also need to lengthen my luteal phase so will look into this.

I am currently ovulating around Day 14 and my cycles are only 22-25 days long.

I started taking Wild Nutrition fertility multivitamins and eating as many foods as I could with potassium, B6 and vitamin c in them, and then once ovulation hit I added in magnesium rich foods and a magnesium skin spray at bedtime. So far so good!

I take magnesium and B6 daily. It didn’t even occur to me it was linked to fertility.
I need to get serious and look at supplements, truly understand my Cycle etc rather than just taking ovulation tests and hoping for the best.

Im 8dpo and going a little crazy with the waiting. Had a little cry yesterday and my SO asked me what was wrong and I felt so silly saying I didnt feel pregnant.

I had a blood test a few months ago due to really painful periods. The medical app under notes said moderately severe. when I phoned reception though they said notes said I didn't need to see dr. I just put the results through chatgpt because something felt off and it came back saying that lower level of SHBG I was presenting could be PCOS. currently trying to book an appointment now with my actual DR to discuss this!

Hi
New to the group
I have been TTC for 9 months now, usually regularly as clockwork with my periods to the actual day but was 5 days late this time. I had a little glimmer of hope but then spotting started and now feels like my period is coming.
Gutted to say the least but glad I have found this thread.
Welcome - lots of different stories and circumstances on this thread but everyone is lovely and all trying for the same goal 🩷

It’s not uncommon to have spotting in early pregnancy. Did you test at all?

Yeah unfortunately all negative but there was a slight glimmer of hope with a late period but what will be will be.

Hey 👋🏻 Do you do any sort of cycle tracking through the month? I’m a regular 28 day cycle and only found out what the problem was from watching ovulation (short luteal phase)
