Travel Vloggers and VanLifers

Is anyone else feeling like something is seriously off with Kinging Its house project videos? Craig just seems like he’d literally rather be anywhere else and the sparkle of their travel videos is non existent. They just don’t seem excited at all and Aimee seems to be carrying everything, Craig just tagging along like a miserable cloud. Something just doesn’t feel right at all. Or maybe this is how they really are when they aren’t putting it on for their travel videos?

Greg said he experienced burn-out during their Africa vlogs and didn't want to pick up a camera anymore which is why they took some weeks off in Scotland. Maybe it was too soon for him to come back.
I can also imagine that the enormity of the house buying and renovation project is dawning on him because this will be all on him - making reasonable decisions, the actual labour. All Aimee will contribute is filling the place with cheap tat and picking out the wallpaper.

Maybe he doesn't want it, just wants to travel and Aimee is of an age, (for woman,) where she wants to nest.
Or maybe they have been advised that now is the time to invest in property.
Either way I really don't think they need a massive house like some they have looked at. They have openly said they will not be having children so unless they are planning on a business of some type I think they would be better off, like the Ex-Pawers for example, with something smaller that they can come and go to, but who knows what they are thinking.

I think they're pretty much following the Eamon and Bec blueprint: buying and renovating a property and then using their youtube fame to rent it out way over market value and turn that into their post-youtube business. And for that they need a big 3+ bedroom house, so families with kids or groups of friends are attracted to booking it.

Craig fights depression by being an adrenaline junkie and Aimee is clearly the opposite of that. To me, it's obvious they're unsuited to each other in that. So them settling down in a house is going to be a real test of their relationship. Craig wants to be jumping off buildings and outrunning the "Federalis" so renovating a house is going to drive him nuts.

Yes I think you’re right. I read somewhere that recovery from real burn out can take months if not up to a year. And they definitely haven’t waited that long for him to recover. And they’ve burnt out a lot over the years. This is why I’m worried about them doing a renovation when it’s for views and not because they truly want to. Craig doesn’t seem excited by the big projects, probably because he knows he’ll be doing 80% of the work. His heart just doesn’t seem in it and I think they’d be happier finding a house that just needs a bit of modernisation rather than a full reno project. Not watched the latest yet so not fully up to date, just really felt the vibe has been off with them on these house videos.

So as per kinging it's new vlog, the Travel Beans are currently house hunting in Scotland too.

Not many van lifers left soon with everyone buying properties.

So boring! Did I see a YouTube from Kinging It now looking for a "tiny home" in Wales, but also the thumbnail mentioned developing a campsite?!
At this point I think both channels are scraping the barrel for any content which is not actually travelling in the van. I hope the Beans have gone somewhere safe to escape the storms and aren't in the T5 with their baby.

The Beans are burned out, but clearly Al does not want a 9 to 5 either. I think having a baby is clearly more taxing than they imagined. I just keep getting a more and more entitled vibe from them the longer I watch them.

Would be stupid, financially, to quit now that they get 100-200k views per video and with their latest clickbait even getting to 340k. But they're also clearly out of ideas of what to do and way out of their depth doing it with a baby. How did they not plan a single thing during pregnancy? It's frustrating to watch.

I saw Beans had flying the nest on one of their recent vlogs. An Oz couple who have 2 kids, one a baby. Not seen anything of theirs since they had the second child but see they managed to go to Bhutan with two small kids. That is pretty amazing (although I can't watch them much as there is something super annoying about them!).

Where did you see that? Haven't noticed it.

They were with them the one where they are in Wales. It must have been fairly recently but I was away last week so maybe from the week before?

ah okay. I must have skipped that or just didn't notice as often it's just stuff I throw on a playlist to have on in the background lol

Anyone watched Mike (Mike and Tricia) video about the clickbait Travel Beans have used on their last upload re Scotland?
Got to agree with him tbh. See in the comments lots have now stopped following them because of it. They irritate me actually.

Felt quite shocked when Kinging It walked up to the travel beans van and showed they are crammed in there with that baby. It's a tiny, badly finished space. I'd be so worried about mould and the baby breathing it in.

They should watch that clip, look at it objectively and reassess what they are doing.

It's like they've completely lost the plot.

I've just watched it. He's right. I didn't watch their video as I knew it would be click bait and they are actually supposedly looking for somewhere to live in Scotland?!

I get the vibe they are desperate for cash as having a baby has essentially tanked their channel. I stopped watching after the first few videos with their baby where they seemed to be going out of their way to put him in danger. I think it was the "deadly heatwave in a van" or something like that video with the baby in the thumbnail. It's just irresponsible lunacy, it's all a choice not a necessity. After that I won't watch any of it.
