In fact having watched several vanlifers avidly over the past few years, (ExPawers, Campervibe, Kingin it, Tread the globe, Travelbeans, Those Crappy Days, John and Mandy) now we don't really bother.

Everything is a drama, everything is for content which seems more difficult to create. From the early days of watching to realising that the shot of them arriving somewhere means they have arrived, placed the camera, left and arrived again. :) . They all seem to constantly moan about something, thats if they are still doing vanlife and often seem quite entitled.

Ones we watch now Lifes to Short (Love a bit of Grumpy Ken). Bob Hernshaw (background watching, sometimes nice to see the campsites) and By the Curb (mainly for Helen :))

I liked By the Curb for a while but it became more and more obvious that he wasnt actually living in his van. He was at Helen's, his parents, his sister's or he was off on holiday staying in hotels.

He does say that technically he's not a van life channel though and posts various aspects of his life. I still like the channel, probably more for Helen than James and I enjoy their foreign travel content.
 
Watching Travel Beans is super annoying. Why did they buy the house when they're not spending much time there and when they do, they don't do anything to fix it?! I just watched another one of their videos with them tiredly laughing through it about their house being in shambles, then spending some time at some airbnb lounging around eating and drinking wine because their house is a mess. First they wake up in a freezing house because there's no heating at all ("Who knew that winters in Italy would be cold?" Everyone with half a brain, Alex) and whoopsie, no hot water either. Then they just stand around not doing anything except pondering whether getting a heater would be a good thing. I bet they have no idea that the fuse box in that house probably cannot handle a powerful heater either, being a typical Italian house. Then it's the usual wandering around, spending time at the airbnb and all of them catching a stomach bug (which might just be a common tourist issue because of different kind of bacteria). They mention they have the contact details of an architect. Oh great, do they realise no architect or other renovation guy will magically appear at their door when they have time some day? These things work differently in Italy. Why can't they do something themselves? I mean, paint walls, plaster up, whatever you can with the help of YouTube videos and a DIY store? Their lack of energy and initiative is infuriating. And just when you think they might do something, they say they'll lock the house for the winter and fly back to England. 🥱 Yeah, that house will never be fixed.

Yes!!!!!!

I was screaming at them the entire vlog. You have a kid in a house without heat, hot water, with falling plaster walls and you just stand around for a few days??? Do something! When they went to the Airbnb they deserved the stomach bug. What the hell!?! It’s your house. You can do something. They are the laziest folks.

I found Trent the Traveller a welcome change of pace. Just a guy and his dog travelling around with a very chill vibe. Even if things go wrong there's no real big drama just gets on with it. Well edited video's with a laid back feel. So much better than all the drama stuff on other channels.
 
The Travels Beans latest upload was a crummy commercial for some lame Go Pro knock off wrapped in a visit from Endless Adventure. WTF.

Might as well give away a decoder ring reminding everyone to be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

Wow I almost posted "Well that's Youtube channels do sponsor stuff." But having watched it you were right it's one long advert. You would think they would want to promote the Endless Adventure appearance as the main focus but I guess they got a big cheque from Go Pro.
 
Anyone watch fieldview_adventures? What a pair of muppets! Constantly backtracking on what they say, as they have no clue! Kathryn’s constant ’I know’ after everything Steve says. Of course you know Kathryn, you’re there! He’s talking to your viewers, not you!! Someone commented on their post about them being cruel to their dog Booboo, because he’s had a bad leg for a year and they won’t take him to the vet only their own vets which is shut till new year. He has the longest claws I’ve ever seen on a dog and surprised the vets not cut them?! Anyway, give them a watch and see what comedy gold they offer, especially if you’re good at spotting and picking holes in the crap they say! 😂😂😂

I used to watch them but stopped about 6 months ago when they made unnecessary, snidey comments about other van lifers.
They are always cooking and eating absolutely junk but say they usually eat healthily and we only see a small part of their day. Funny how that small part never records their healthy meals…
