Its ridiculous how people keep bringing them up all the time! They put out a minuscule statement but you would think she had set fire to a Prince Philip effigy the amount of column inches and words that have been expended on her since he has died. The people keeping Meghan and Harry in the news are the people who cant stop mentioning her at every opportunity! The Oprah interview was a month ago. Just bloody ignore them ffs!
I think it was more the way they went about it. Buckingham palace put out the statement. Charles and the Cambridges socials merely copied that statement and that was supposed to be that on Friday. Harry and Meghan broke with the wishes of the Queen they claim to respect. We've since heard from Charles, Andrew, Edward and Anne so one can assume a tribute from the Cambridges next. Precedent is very important to the Queen but they didn't respect that.

I think she's the spit of Edward. Definitely a Windsor anyway.
I just see the Queen as a young girl, her hair colour is like Prince Philip, she's definitely a Windsor and she appeared to have a lovely relationship with her grandfather. It will be such a loss to them.
On the subject of look a likes Beatrice is a throw back to Queen Victoria, that's a great great great grandmother, I'd love to know if I was like someone that far back in my family tree.

Oh yes, it made me laugh through way they all have to arrive at Sandringham for Christmas in order of seniority.

It's a shame the last Christmas wasn't the same. I feel awful for people who are nearing the end of their lives during this pandemic. If l know l'm about to pop my clogs, you'll find me quaffing champagne at the Savoy, or jetting off to a far flung haunt from a misspent youth...

think much of this mess is media doing. PR wars.
Definitely. The way the print media keep afloat now is through click based advertising. Newspaper sales are through the floor. MM gets people clicking and commenting, generating ad revenue do she gets mentioned wherever and whenever possible. Shes probably kept Mailonline from going bankrupt just onbthe last months clickbait alone!

Talking of throw back to their ancestors, I watched the documentary about Princess Alice, Philip's mother. Her husband, Prince Andrew of Greece had the ears that Charles has inherited. The documentary is very interesting, worth a watch imho . https://www.channel5.com/show/princ...ArHVmgawSjRvEmYzBfS83srOtyAJzvpyUqhz8cHZBmq2A
Princess Alice was an incredible woman. I didnt realise it was on so thanks for that!

I think she's the spit of Edward. Definitely a Windsor anyway.
I was just saying that when I saw her on the news 😄

As he is retired due to that interview l also think his grieving should have remained private. The bloke can't help but put himself in the spotlight regardless of how it might look.
Exactly and using the term ‘The Nations Grandfather’ was a complete PR move, he saw the publicity given to Tony Blair for coming up with ‘The People’s Princess’ and thought I’ll have a bit of that. I have no doubt he will be mourning his Father but he’s full of his own self importance and looking for a way back in.

The cynic in me believes Andrew might use this to get back into the public realm again and people will be too scared to criticise him because of it. Agree with people sbout Megan and Harry - damned if they do, dammed if they don't!

You mean the case he refuses to cooperate with and is hiding behind his mother so he can't be charged with anything? I 100% believe Virginia's claims about PA and the fact that people believe that Andrew is innocent because he hasn't been charged is ignorant. Only 3% of sexual Assult/ rape cases get a conviction which is hugely down to people holding opinions like this and the shame of it happening.

I cannot stand H&M but to see people defend PA makes me sick to my stomach. I believe Virginia and the fact that he is being promoted on the Royal Family instagram account is disgusting. PP may be PA'S father but he does not deserve a platform or any sympathy at all, I reserve sympathy for rape/human trafficking victims.

I think the same. Hes thinking he can use this to get back into the public eye, and his brother is less likely to want to upset The Queen by having a row with him about it.
I think if they need more Royals they should put Sophie forward more. She looks and sounds good. Intelligent and sensitive.

Lady Pamela was on itv the other night for a documentary about HM. I’d never heard of her before, but she seemed incredibly close to HM and Philip, so probably did see him as a sibling. She seemed much closer to him than I imagine some of the Queens cousins and their partners were.
She's the younger daughter of Lord Mountbatten and, I think, the only one of that generation left now - her elder sister was the second Countess Mountbatten, the infamous Penny Mountbatten's mother-in-law.

Philip's mother was committed when he was eight; he saw her a few times in the next two years and then not at all, nor heard from her, for five. His father shut up the family home and went off to Monte Carlo while his four older sisters married German princelings. Philip lived with his maternal grandmother (incidentally both his grandmother and mother were born in the same room at Windsor Castle) for a short time before his mother's older brother George Mountbatten, Marquess of Milford-Haven, took over parental responsibility; Philip was very close to his cousin David Mountbatten who was around his age and was later his best man. After George died from cancer when Philip was in his mid-teens, his mother's younger brother Lord Louis Mountbatten, later Earl Mountbatten, took over as guardian and quasi parent for Philip; Pamela Hicks is Louis' younger daughter.

A short time later, when Philip was sixteen, his favourite sister Cecilie died in a horrific plane crash along with her mother-in-law, husband and children.
Cecilie was around eight months pregnant. She gave birth during the crash (some think at the instant of it with the force) but all onboard died, including mother and child.
There are pictures of a teenage Philip walking behind the coffins at the funeral, surrounded by Nazi uniforms and flags; that experience probably influenced his advice to William and Harry but by then Philip was a great deal more resilient and emotionally guarded than his grandsons, having effectively lost his mother eight years before and this being yet another loss in a series of losses.

A YouTuber made this video about Kate Middleton - what do we think of this?

This scam artist above doesn't deserve any views, clicks or promotions. There's tonnes of threads on her here and it's best to not click on this scammer's videos. She's full of shyte and contradicts herself constantly.

Edit: Can't comment on the content of this video, as I absolutely refuse to give her a single click, but it's most definitely likely bs.

There was a daughter, who wasn’t on the plane. She died 2 years later of meningitis. Lost her entire family at 15 months old and died before she was 3. I read about it after the episode of the Crown that covered the crash. I find her short little life incredibly sad.

I wonder what Phil thought of his father, has he ever spoken about him?

Apparently, after is father died in 1944 Phil went to Monaco to collect his father's possessions, amongst them his father's signet ring, which from then on he wore himself (and pics throughout his adult life show him wearing one along with a wedding ring underneath after marriage till he couldn't anymore a few years ago and had to take them off), took his dad's shaving brush, which he then also used himself and even his dad's clothes, which he had retailored to fit himself and it's not like he was so poor that he needed to use his father's things.

Shows some sort of attachment.
