Andrew is an arrogant awful man - it disgusts me to see his face. Shocking to have him on TV / royal insta / news websites. Have people no memory? Yes he can grieve ...privately. Zero time for him and actually intrigued as to how he was permitted to talk to media? Does TQ really agree he has done no wrong as he clearly feels?

If Harry cheated on Meghan like William did with Kate, would the press protect him as they did with Will ?
Unlikely, Harry was always thrown to the wolves whereas Will was protected and even though I think much of the Ssex interview was bs, they threw some points out that inept idiot Oprah didn't follow up on (eg it seems there are talks to further limit HRH and prince/ss titles once Charles ascends) and other things they said, which I think they didn't elaborate on (to not completely burn bridges?), but made them look like total chumps (eg him realizing he was in a "toxic" situation/family and I do believe they were referring to the heir/spare dynamic where one is coddled and protected and the other... not.).

Like Morton said, the interview was quite complex and it had some interesting bits that the wider media hasn't picked up on and some of these things you only start to unpack with time.

Anyway, it was always unlikely that H would be protected in such a scenario like Will, but now it's open season in the media on the Ssexes, so it would definitely be outed. If the press comes across a morsel of dirt on the Ssexes, you bet your hat it'll be in the papers asap.
(like the whole coffee thing, which was before M invested and the company has been sourcing from Canada since way before M invested, but hey, those details don't belong in headlines, which seems to be the only thing people ever read, the text of the article is just to look pretty!?)

Especially not a racist one.

I should ignore this, but if you call a man that refused to join the Hitler Youth and fought the Nazis - actually saving his whole team on a boat from them by reacting bravely and swiftly - and who traveled the whole world and knew many international leaders a "Nazi" then this says a lot about you and nothing about him.

He made some inappropriate comments - get over it. Doesn't make him racist.

I think that some people actually don't understand what "racist" means.

I think the firm had no idea he would talk to the media. He saw his opportunity and took it.
I think they did know, and thought it would be a good way of getting him an opportunity to be put in a good light. It was only a week or two after it became public about his associations with Epstein that he was seen with the Queen going to church. They arrived giggling together in the same car. The Queen is out of touch with normal sane people, she made a huge error by mis judging people's reaction to Diana's death and she's done it again. When she realised or was advised how the nation felt about him he was taken out of the picture and her and Phil had probably agreed that if either of them croaked Andrew would be wheeled out again and be embraced into the nation's bosom. Well not as far as I am concerned he can duck off, he is far more obnoxious than Harry and his maligned wife.

Yes I think Americans, even if they care, have no idea how the Monarchy works, even if they think they do. That it's not Disney Princesses, it's a business, and its purpose is to keep that business alive. They do it by protecting the heir. They have always done it, so if you're anyone apart from the heir, you are only there to protect the Institution. It's a good idea what Charles is doing, and Harry has tarnished his reputation by not taking that on board and saying he wanted to bring his family up privately so he had something to fall back on when Charles becomes King and his children are brought up knowing they are expected to make their own way, instead of moaning about titles ( I still think the vitriol is off the scale when all they have done is be spoilt and entitled, which is what Harry has come to expect from being a Royal). Really the whole system of inherited monarchy is wrong, for us and for the family who are in it but they cling on because the benefits so outweigh the damage to the non heir children.

When she realised or was advised how the nation felt about him he was taken out of the picture and her and Phil had probably agreed that if either of them croaked Andrew would be wheeled out again and be embraced into the nation's bosom.
I'm not sure about that, but I do think Liz in particular was forced probably by Charles to sideline him against her will. No one wants to upset The Queen at this time and he knew it.

There are rumours that Harry was pretty heavily protected back when he was younger and the RF had to really bargain with the press what they reported on him. The nazi uniform and strip poker was agreed to be printed in exchange for not printing a load of other stuff he was doing at the time.

Maybe wouldn’t be protected now he’s solo, but probably when he was still in the family, I don’t believe the notion that the RF didn’t protect H&M, they denied a lot of stories about them and we know a lot of their life is still kept from the press, so it’s possible to keep some privacy.

I heard the opposite- that the nazi uniform and strip polka was to protect William. Who knows what the truth is?

Christ, do I have to list all the things he said? I'm beginning to think that you don't know what "racist" means. You think making racist "jokey" comments is just banter? Not a good look for you.

And, please, do point out where I called him a Nazi. You seem quite triggered in a very odd way.

He was the Bernard Manning of the royal family.

It's no wonder that a racist like Boris defended Prince Philip's "dodgy" comments in Parliament yesterday, effectively paying tribute to them.
