Hard agree on this. Giles Coren is posh af, but he's not an actual aristo and so doesn't have the clout in aristo circles to actually start that rumour and have it believed. He heard it, repeated it, KP probably called his editor at The Times and Coren was called in for a dressing down, Coren shat his pants (because he's all mouth and no trousers) and publicly took the blame.

The Times and Sun will ultimately fall into line in order to protect their royal access. Both the Sun and The Times had big articles (front page in the Sn's case) telling the public to LEAVE KATE ALONE!!! No doubt that order came from KP too.

Wasn’t she a teenager when she met Charles? And when she got engaged to him she was literally 19 years old.. i doubt she went into it as you say with “both eyes wide open”. She was too young and naive.

The issues with the Carlings aren’t the only rumours about her. I’m not saying they aren’t true because they obviously are true. I just made a mildly throwaway comment that a lot of the rumours about her came out after she died.
 
It's worth remembering that almost no humans are all good or all bad. It's not hard to imagine that Diana was both naive and unready for marriage to the future king and a person who had manipulative and vindictive tendencies.
She's both the woman who was good to AIDS patients & raised awareness around land mines and the woman who parentified her eldest son while seemingly using "deserving" the throne more to make her youngest feel special.

She was human, not the deified saint she's often portrayed as, not some evil villainess. She likely contributed to mental health issues for both her sons while also giving them a sense of love and warmth they've both spoken off.

People are complicated, and they can kind of suck even while doing good things, or being victims of other events themselves.
 
Also I don’t buy the whole ‘William saw his parents cheat on each other so he would therefore NEVER cheat on Kate’. Yes he may have experienced the trauma of it but this does not mean that he is now never going to do it, humans are flawed and things aren’t black and white.
I think it’s very telling there’s been some PR profiles on Rose lately.

Just cos he’s dated a bunch of blondes in the past doesn’t mean that’s his only type 😂 remember he famously tried to chat up Rhianna and date her. A person can be attracted to lots of different looking women.

Agreed. Empirically speaking, people are more likely to repeat the toxic patterns their grew up with even when they desperately don't want to. The young girl who saw her mother beaten by her no-good stepfather may swear that she'll be adept at spotting the red flags, and then to her frustration end up falling into a toxic relationship even if the details aren't exactly parallel.

it takes hard work in really good dialectical behaviour therapy to break the pattern. Has William done that? Who knows

No one knows for sure either way but I do think the media are very pissed off with being excluded from getting inside info on kate’s health- The Wales are private - The Sussexes can’t fart but there is a statement - William is obviously handling the media his way and they don’t like it hence the nitpicking over a photo etc- it’s hounding, bullying, baiting etc- We know Diana went through it and celebs like Caroline Flack certainly got alot of it

Unpopular opinion, Diana was more morally corrupt and less of a girls girl than Camilla but was just prettier so gets away with it

Yes! I had a glimpse at Twitter yesterday and basically The Kate stans, the hashtag trend yesterday was #istandwithCatherine and they were flooding Twitter with isn’t our POW just beautiful. A true English 🌹 load of crap! Adding on Harry doctors all of his pictures and then accusing their photographer of adding stuff in to photos he took so I think he just shared the photos to say look, crack on but this is the original, I may be wrong but I think that’s the jist of it. Most of these Kate stans are American women! I find that a bit odd! A lot of them Trump supporters to! I clicked on a few (I know but I was bored waiting for an appointment at the dentist)!!

Bit off topic but Rihanna is not attractive she has the face of a baby born with FAS! Bloody hell I know it’s gotta be Rihanna who is second only to the English rose on this bloody thread! I’m ready for you to come at me! Haha!

Also Giles Coren is such a see you next Tuesday! But he i believe he repeated tit he’d heard. He’s not an aristocrat but definitely is posh as duck and no doubt knows others in the know. Like a tattler said further up, I agree, he was roasted over it by his editor and had to say he’d made it up and deleted it! For anyone who doesn’t know him he’s a food critic, the brother of Victoria Coren Mitchell and their father is Alan Coren, a well known journalist, writer, editor and broadcaster from the early years of radio and then tv! Victoria definitely got the charm genes! The best part of Giles was wiped on a sheet!

I'd MUCH rather go for a drink with Camilla than Diana. I mean I don't drink anymore but still. I feel like Camilla would be a laugh, laid back and wouldn't judge me for popping out regularly to the smokers' garden, in fact she'd join me. She wouldn't be averse to ordering a big bowl of cheesy chips too. Whereas Diana would turn up dressed to the nines, side-eye me on my outfit, sip sparingly at a single vodka diet soda and tlak breathlessly about her own dramas without even asking me how I am lol

Giles Coren reacted a couple of months ago....

He wasn't pressured he just doesn't know.... but people don't want to believe it.

Because this was only thing they had to "proof" it was true because a journalist said so.
