The O.C.

Yessss the OC for music was amazing, I have so many random songs saved that are purely cos of it. One of my favourites was Strange and Beautiful (ill put a spell on you) by Aqualung.

I loved Imogen Heap cos of it too and the Dandy Warhol’s. Get on this if you like the music, it has everything

Has anyone else seen the latest oc podcast rachel and melinda do?

adam brody was a guest, lovely to see him
And rachel (kinda) together again, everyone in the comments were saying how dolled up rachel was compared to previous episodes 🤣 bit of an awkward moment when they discussed ‘jumper’ movie 🥴

i love adam with leighton but him
And rachel were a dream back the day.

i do think adam is the one that got away for Rachel

Totally agree about Adam being the one that got away. Having listened to the podcast over time, she always speaks so fondly of him and the memories she has. She even gushed over him on the podcast and said she was at her best when she was acting alongside him 🥰 I haven’t watched the YouTube version yet but I’m super excited that it’s 1 of 2 so we get more Adam next week 🤩

Loveeee the OC i am currently rewatching it all and on series 2.... I adore sandy and kirsten ❤❤❤
I’ve just started rewatching from the beginning too 🤩 (for about the 100th time 😂)

melissa Clarke and rachel bilson have a podcast called welcome to the oc witches, you might enjoy it as they talk about each episode and have guests on. It’s a great listen!

I am so glad I found this thread! I also had the dvd box set and would always watch it when I needed a "comfort watch". I am on the First Season at the moment. I just started rewatching it for some escapism as I'm going through a really stressful time and this show reminds me of younger carefree days when I watched it the first time.

Sandy is my favourite character (so hot too), I like Seth (I would have been crazy about him if he was in my school) and I like Anna.

I listened to one episode of the podcast - I thought it was a bit poor, I thought the interview was very awkward. It was an early episode so maybe they have improved since.

Ah same, it’s definitely my comfort show 🥰 hope it gives you the distraction and escapism you need.

What surprises me now is how young the actors look when I watch it now such as sandy, Julie and Kirsten but it might be because I’ve seen them now and it’s 20 years on 😂 but sandy was dad and husband goals (aside from the Rebecca debacle 😂). Ben mckenzie was my teen crush and I still adore him 🥺

The podcast does improve, they did seem quite wooden and a bit awkward to begin with but I think that was because they were over video and sometimes they talk over each other or wait for someone else to speak but they record in person now and they’ve certainly found their groove. Rachel has the worst memory and doesn’t remember anything but Melissa remembers it all and more! She knows so much and certainly seems to do a lot of research prior to every episode about fan reactions, the music and the person they have on. Some of the best podcast episodes feature Peter Gallagher, Adam Brody, Kelly rowan, Chris carmack, navi rawat and Tate Donovan. Peters daughter kathryn also went on and I enjoyed hearing what she had to say. Also liked the one with Josh Schwartz and some of the director/writer ones are a nice listen too if you want to skip to those or have a favourite episode. Season one is my favourite so I’ve listened to every episode as they discuss the storyline as well as involving whoever is on that episode for their memories and experiences.

I enjoyed a few more episodes from Season One last night. One small, random thing really bugs me :

I get that when they first let Ryan stay they didn't know him at all and it was just temporary so him staying in the pool house made sense. But then he became a member of the family and they trusted him..... why does he still live in the pool house? Its not like their massive house doesn't have a guest room inside (they even mention the guest room in a further episode).

I know the pool house makes sense for different plots but realistically its weird that he still sleeps there right?!

I've been watching the first series again - I just love it. Can't wait to get into the podcast but I'm in the middle of another TV show podcast and can't manage two series at once 🤣

Seth was always my absolute fave.

I have to rotate between rugby and football podcasts because I can’t cope with mixing the sports 😂😂 I need to have one podcast per genre is my brain can’t handle it ahaha

I’m not sure if this is my own assumption, I’ve read it/heard it somewhere, or it’s said somewhere in the show but I think it’s because it was where he first stayed and it’s more private than being in the main house. I also think he doesn’t want to intrude too much than he already has. They also refer to the poolhouse so much on the show, like literally all the time. When Teresa comes to Newport for work, it’s mentioned quite a few times like “oh I’ll just hope to find a family that’ll put me in their poolhouse”. I also think having a poolhouse was considered quite a big deal and showed wealth so it could be why they did it.
