Adam Brody (Seth) was 23 when they filmed the first season. Ben Mckenzie (Ryan) was 25, Rachel Bilson (Summer) was 21, the only one who was actually a teenager was Mischa Barton (Marissa) who was 17 during the filming of season 1

Hands down one of my favourite ever tv series in my top 5 for ones I can just rewatch over and over.

Yes! Loved Marissa’s Mom and the storyline of her having a relationship with Caleb(?) Seth’s Grandad.

There’s a really good podcast at the moment that’s hosted by Rachel Bilson & Melinda Clarke (Summer & Julie Cooper) they are re-watching the show and doing a podcast pet episode talking about it and the whole show etc, it’s interesting if you are a fan of the show, you can watch them on YouTube or listen as a podcast…

yeah I've listened to a couple and started rewatching it bc of this, can't believe there are 27 episodes in season 1!

Always thought the chemistry between Mischa Barton & Cam Gigandet was off the scale but he’s apparently been nothing but completely dismissive about the OC and her….
Weird but one of the things I look back on and miss about the OC was the excitement every week to watch it, obviously it is great to have everything available immediately but it does make you lose some of the excitement.
I was definitely team seth but looking back on it I really dislike him, like claiming to be "in love" with Summer for years pretty much based on nothing but shallow things yet he is apparently such a genuine person
. Anyway sorry rant over lol, I much preferred him with the other girl (whose name escapes me), incidentally she has become a crazy Qanon Trump supporter

I LOVED The OC, I just saw this thread and came on to say about the podcast which I've been listening to recently - it's really good. It's making me want to rewatch it again!
