The Last of Us - HBO & Sky Atlantic

I found the Bryan scene difficult, you do forget when you play the game you're just going round mindlessly taking down the bad guys so it was interesting to see them humanised.
Agreed! Like in the game its not real. I know the shown isn't either, but its real people and emotion. And everyone has a story.

Reminded me of walking dead where everyone roots for Rick over Negan but only because your attached to Rick's side, if we saw negan from the begginging it would be different. Same for part 2 of the game when everyone complained about having to play as Abbey.

it was absolutely beautiful. I don’t mind they deviated from the game. It was lovely to see their relationship because we didn’t get to see it in the game. Little disappointed we didn’t get to see Bill and Ellie’s scenes though. They done a beautiful job. I absolutely cried my eyes out. Murray Bartlett is absolutely gorgeous. I watched the White Lotus and I actually never appreciated how good looking he is until he played Frank. Nick Offerman was amazing. It was one of the most beautiful episodes of tv I’ve ever watched. If it was a story about a man finding a woman or vice versa it wouldn’t have worked as well i think.
I sobbed the entire episode - I haven't played the game so watching with zero expectations, my partner who has played agreed it was sad but wasn't emotional.

Exactly! The first time I played 2 I was outraged I had to play as Abbey and by the end I was rooting for her!

Same!!! But definitely grew to love on and it was good to see it from the other side.

Hope she is in season 2. But she would need to be carefully cast
Yeah I was like you know what I totally get it abbey 🤣.
I think they've said each series will follow each game, will be interesting if that's the case for 2!

I hated Abby at first but by the end I was like nah I'm totally on her side here. After playing Seattle day 1-3 as her it just made me see things differently. And she has it so rough, I cant wait to see how the tv show does the scene when Abby goes to the lower floors in the hospital. I don't think I've ever screamed so much at any game as I did playing that part. If there's a 3rd game I hope it we find out if Abby and Lev made it to the island.

I loved that episode! Everyone who was complaining about lack of action can't use that excuse this week. It was heartbreaking and terrifying in equal measure. Even more heartbreaking than the game I think.

it absolutely was. the added interactions between ellie and sam, and her thinking her blood could “save” him was devastating. the actor who played henry was excellent too i thought. i cried

just found this thread so I could share how emotional this last Ep felt. Sam and Henry 😭. Also amazing how you can actually build emotions and care for characters just in one episode. I feel so sad that last scene did me dirty.

Anyone who’s watched it who knows the game

what the hell the huge clicker was?! And did Joel see it? It scared me to death

I haven't watched the episode yet, but have played the game. The big ones are called bloaters. And are ones who have been infected a long time and are very difficult to kill! They are also not even the worst ones!
