In the video titled “Ladies and Gentlemen we have a boiler room” from 9 months ago the construction of the boiler room is shown with the specific comment by Amaury and repeated by Fanny that the pink plasterboard is fire rated (2hours?). He intends to put a second layer of same plasterboard over what he has done. Then in his workshop, just have the cheaper plasterboard backing on to these fire resistant boards. There is print shown on plasterboard which I couldn’t decipher.
Amaury discusses the required fire door (facing courtyard near where cars parked) and secondary access (presumably from rear of the boiler room but not really
shown).

@MRShavershamsdress Tboughts on the speed with which the strike ended? And how are you feeling?
I’m almost back to fighting shape, thank you. As to the strike ending, I’ve just had a lengthy chin wag with some of the union leaders here and in Houston. There’s some relief among the rank and file but there’s skepticism as automation is still in play. It’s not particularly well known, but that has been the sticking point for the last two years. Some automation crept in during the late 1950’s with the use of forklifts and advent of shipping containers. It really took off in the early 1970’s with more standardization and purpose built ships. From my understanding that was the beginning of the end for the labor force. Apparently it cut the workforce in half. The automation they’re fighting now is insidious. Fully automated ports with remote controlled machinery right down to electromagnetic docking systems. The only longshoremen will actually be IT personnel. Within a few contracts the workforce will be redundant. Funny thing about that, robots don’t need the latest doohickey from Amazon or whatever eCommerce giant is flooding the world with unnecessary junk. If no one has a job, who will buy that crap? Asia has already had considerable automation in this industry. And once that section of the workforce falls who’s next? Already corporations are creating “dark” stores that are entirely automated. I’m giving it a lot of side eye as it concerns me greatly.

I heard they got automation pushed back six years. Idk if that is accurate or not. Glad to hear you are doing better, and thanks for your take on it.

So we're to believe that in a single day, after Potty arrived late the previous night, Fanny & Snorty did all this:

- Got out of bed, dressed up & were ready to leave before sunrise (still pitch black outside)
- dropped Ratso 2.0 off in Mummy's apartment (why not let the dog sleep with FRK the night before?)

1728009707944.png

- drove to Chateauroux to drop Nikki off at the train station (it's only 30 mins. away from the shitoo, but it's now light outside so assume it's approx. 7:45-8:00 a.m)
.
1728009746988.png
1728009643456.png

- drove 4.0 hours to Paris
- stopped in Paris to pick up Bernardaud Marie-Antoinette soup bowls Snorty purchased at auction. Those rim soup bowls list for £136 each. Snorty confesses that he previously purchased soup bowls that were already chipped so he needs more
1728009812312.png
1728009854020.png

- drove another 30 kms. NE of Paris to Chateau Chantilly
- arrived at Chateau Chantilly (which covers nearly 20,000 acres) and is enormous to navigate
- rented a 2-4 seater golf cart which costs 35€/hour to get around the grounds
- buzzed around the grounds filming

- picked-up Ron the Chateau Leach. Snorty seemed excited to kick Fanny to the back seat & cozy up next to Ron.

- buzzed around the grounds filming more

Yes, @MagpieSassyPants here on our local news, in an interview with the local head of the union, he directly said they've fought off major automation at the Baltimore docks for the length of the contract. Not sure what this means for long term, though, and when asked, he was trying to keep everything positive and said "we'll deal with that when the time comes but it's on the horizon - for now, we're happy to return to work tomorrow." To @MRShavershamsdress point, robots don't buy locally, they don't spend in the communities they live! I think there are something like 15,000 longshoreman in Baltimore....where will they work if their jobs are eliminated?

I was keenly interested in this particular strike, as our port just opened back up, two months after the Key Bridge was struck by a huge freight ship and collapsed, killing 6 people. I was concerned that they were out of work for two months, got back at it, and now the strike. It's a hardship, but at least they got the pay raises they deserve and can hopefully live to fight another day!

Poor Moneymaker 2.0 gets passed around the Dump from person to person constantly. The dog has no routine or stability. Stephanie is treating the prop dog the same as she treated Ratso 1.0. Moneymaker 2.0 is going to get dumped for weeks on whomever happens to be at the freezing dump as the greeedy gruesome twosome start several months of travel. Stephanie will leave moneymaker 2.0 alone with abusive loser Phillip if he does not go to Morocco. IMHO, short tempered, angry, domineering Phillip is abusive to moneymaker 2.0., especially when the little pink camera is not filming or left alone with the dog. FRK is marginally better, but not by much.

While the Chateau de Chantilly is of decidedly epic grandeur and impressive proportions, the Chateau de Lalande has something Chantilly cannot match and that is the priceless treasure of the Chapel of St Joseph, which outshines the more modest and subdued artistry of the Chapel at Chantilly. Interesting to note that the current Chapel of St Louis at Chantilly was built in 1882 in the same spot as stood the older chapel before the French Revolution. As the Chapel of St Joseph was built about the same time-period, that makes Lalande’s chapel a proud contemporary of the Chapel of St Louis.

That was a great tour. Thank you so much. I do have a question? How do so many dishes break at La Lande? I’ve been married for 51 years and broken 2 dishes in all that time. I have broken plenty of glasses though

Ok so wait…your pharmacists are also mushroom experts? Is this throughout all of France or just your area? Do they have special training in their pharmaceutical training of mushrooms.

Yes all pharmacists in France are trained as mushrooms experts and give their expert advice for free to anybody anywhere.

Something has gone wrong with the adverts, they are never ending and the opinion to skip them is no longer available. I’ve got better things to do, I don’t have the time to waste waiting for them to end.

I suspect Fanny was quoted full estimates on a range of heating options including a proper commercial heating installation, but she didn't want to spend the money and argued against the expert's recommendations.

Fanny (with Snorty sticking his nose in) always thinks she's right and won't listen to the experts. No different than Fanny arguing to raise the ceiling in the GS, or fighting against the steel beam installation, or ordering a single undersized water tank for the back garden. Fanny HATES building works because they aren't pretty and she always elects to take short-cuts which save money that she can instead spend on decorations.

I suspect you're not far from the truth on that either.

It's got to be more than just a plasterboard problem, that's utter bollocks.

They were redoing the flues when the accident happened as I think they'd been told they didn't comply.

The suppliers we use have their own technical department and on big installations Mr Spratt works with them, they come out to site and advise from there. We had a gas installation last year where the diggers hit granite where the tank was to go, you seek advice you don't just blindly carry on. It ended up being much more complicated but it got done and everyone was happy.

For the cost of it, which in Fanny's world is nothing, get the inspectors in and if it's not right do the changes, get them in again and keep doing so until it's correct.

I really hope Nathan's not cocked up.

Couldn't watch last nights drivel with new cast member and arse kisser Dooo RonRon.

Right, so the plasterboard has the NF stamp on it, a decent brand and is the 2hour - tick

Mr Spratt has just watched it and can't see what's wrong, with what's been shown.

The ghastly trio (why, pray tell, was sycophantic Ron in tow?) went off piste at lunch and didn’t choose from one of the three set menus.

I’m not entirely sure Steff got it absolutely right about crème de Chantilly. It’s not the actual cream (or crème fraîche) itself that “different”, it’s what’s done to the cream, i.e. the addition of sugar and vanilla. Hey ho, does it mater?!

How on earth was that a day trip? They must have eaten lunch at the double and done the two tours at high speed. The travelling time there and back, inc a pit stop to collect a few soup plates (give me strength), was akin to flying to Barbados!

Love this idea! Please please Fanny, give Snorts approx' €1,500,000 to spend on a sx legged Boulle desk at auction. It's a great investment for your shiteau! Aww go on, you know you want to! It'd be so worth it, seeing as there's "only two in existence" (apart of course from the pesky ones on display in the Paul Getty Museum) and all those other ones I've just spotted by virtue of a quick goggle search. And what happened to this matching pair, sold at auction in 2015? Hiding on e-bay gathering dust? Chopped up for fire wood? Perhaps someone will eventually list them on Etsy for Philip. Such a pity Vinted don't do lady desks.

I was going to say the same thing. Crème Chantilly is just sweet whipped cream.
Nothing special. But a plate of raspberries and whipped cream for €14,70 - for that price you'd almost believe the cream came from a golden cow.
