SJ couldn't have visited Chantilly without going shopping. The town is bustling with tourists most of the year and has plenty of shops for her to spend, spend, spend.

By the way Brian's family must live not too far from me as I've recognised locations in his last two vlogs.
I think that Brian is probably the only inhabitant of the Chateauverse that I could spend any time with. I hope he doesn't change.

Yes, @MagpieSassyPants here on our local news, in an interview with the local head of the union, he directly said they've fought off major automation at the Baltimore docks for the length of the contract. Not sure what this means for long term, though, and when asked, he was trying to keep everything positive and said "we'll deal with that when the time comes but it's on the horizon - for now, we're happy to return to work tomorrow." To @MRShavershamsdress point, robots don't buy locally, they don't spend in the communities they live! I think there are something like 15,000 longshoreman in Baltimore....where will they work if their jobs are eliminated?

I was keenly interested in this particular strike, as our port just opened back up, two months after the Key Bridge was struck by a huge freight ship and collapsed, killing 6 people. I was concerned that they were out of work for two months, got back at it, and now the strike. It's a hardship, but at least they got the pay raises they deserve and can hopefully live to fight another day!
One of the most bitter pills to swallow was the number of longshoremen here who were killed or permanently disabled by covid. Not to throw shade at our incredible health care workers but the dockworkers and international aircrews were the first reported cases and first deaths. The longshoremen did an outstanding job keeping the cargo moving while complying with the lockdown. There are several in my social circle two of which were forced to retire early from long covid. About ten percent of the union went down with covid. Almost a quarter of those died.

Lawsuits, lawyers and heating problems? I'm so pleased to be a Patron. Stephanie it will be a very cold winter at Chateau de Lalande! Cheers

IT IS OFFICIAL. Loser Philip ruins, everything.
Serach Tikva
Could you not do this without Phillip being involved ??
I find this worrying, controlling, " you can't do anything without him " you could have taken food with you, why does he have to appear ?...... .because he's controlling you.
You've become this sad old lady that needs this young Dandy to survive, I wish someone in your family would find the courage to pull you away.
It's soo sad to see what you've become.
Please, somebody in your network of friends make her see sense

Stephanie, may I suggest hiring someone with experience in construction project management! The French drains should have been the first project done prior to any interior restoration of the Chapel. The Chateau would have heat and no walls in the grand salon would be crumbling down! When you know better you do better! Cheers!

Kelly Joyce
Paul Gribble Protect manage? Not sure what you are talking about! The unstable building was damaged by water, time and neglect. You repair the problem that caused the damage before you restore. That is project management! Cheers!!!

Laura Nolan Cincinat
Kelly Joyce If you actually watched the whole video, instead of small snippets here and there, you'd know that they were going to dig the French Drains first, but the walls were too unstable, so they did that work first. It's also why they had to delay putting in the garden fountain.

Kelly Joyce
Laura Nolan Cincinat Once again it is over your head. Now we will watch the damage starting on the restored paint and plaster work! I have missed you. Big hug and kiss!

Maybe finish one job before starting another! By the way how is the heating coming along ?

Evelyn Grossenbacher

Wonder when all these followers will see the light? No heating, walls falling down but planning numerous trips!!!

Shouldn't Galahad be helping to dig the holes? Surely he could get to Australia

About loser Phillip telling Stephanie not to purchase the Emmaus water bottles

LadyDee
Maria Houlihan plus you never know where they have been. Maybe used to keep the pig litter warm or placed on private areas. Absolutely gross!

But, Stephanie wears Emmaus clothing without washing so obviously where it has been is not an issue. The S & P shopping network

Sharon Dykton Wojcik
Perhaps you should tell everyone just how much you spend retail on your clothes. There is a whole video clip of the huge amounts spent on clothing.

Toni Clampett
Why do you hold/carry Galahad all the time, he clearly wanted to get down and explore whilst you were talking to mummy about the jewellery - which I really liked!

Lynne Sweet
Does he have a problem with his legs as I notice he gets carried everywhere- hope he will be okay if he has

those were not "women" sculpture, we call them sphinge from the Greek mythology, you recognise a sphynge when you see wings and the lion feet on the tables, in France they represented the mistresses and concubine sometimes

I think you and Philip should form a production company and pitch a series on the chateaux of France to Channel 4.

Please say a prayer in the chapel for everyone affected by the hurricane and it's destruction in North Carolina and Tennessee. A town became an island. No way in or out other than helicopter.

Unfortunately prayers do zilch and are not a substitute for actually doing something tangible about it.

@3_3645 Quite happy to do empty gesturing, not so keen to actually do something about it. And if you do believe in God, surely the hurricane was his work?

Looking at this splendour, it always makes me wonder are there people rich enough today to build something like this? It just seems impossible.

That was a great tour. Thank you so much. I do have a question? How do so many dishes break at La Lande? I’ve been married for 51 years and broken 2 dishes in all that time. I have broken plenty of glasses though.

So far I can only think of 2 porcelain plates that have broken during the past four or so years. What I was referring to is that the other soup plates I bought at auction in the past, came with 2 chipped plates (: - Philip
Why on earth would he buy plates which were chipped? Did he not inspect them? Does he not realise that chipped plates are unhygienic? They used these to serve B and B guests. Fools and their money are easily parted. They throw the patrons' money down many drains.

Another line of thought, did Nathan quote to build the boiler room and to save money Fanny's said Super Chippie will do it and now it's wrong trying to dodge the blame because he's spat the dummy that his construction that took FOR EVER is wrong.

Without being there and getting a full proper look at the room and hearing exactly what was said by the inspector we'll never know will we.

I’ve been giving way too much thought to the wretched heating system! Your highlighted para above is what I keep coming back to. I’ve never believed that the necessity for a fireproof room (or enclosure within that old outbuilding (stables? coach house?) was a late-in-the-day, shock-horror discovery well after Nathan started the heating debacle..

Your suggested scenario ticks all the boxes:
  • Nathan based his quote on doing the installation in its entirety and provided a detailed breakdown of what was involved from start to finish
  • SJ baulked at the cost of the nuclear bunker and “volunteered” Armoire to do the work. I imagine it couldn’t be started until the boilers, etc were n situ but, completion of the installation was delayed, as it took forever him to even begin to build the shell of the required room.
Has Armoire been working to an exact specification that would meet the regulations? If he was winging it and it wasn’t up to scratch, that’s his/SJ’s problem. Not Nathan’s. If incorrect materials were used and were ordered by Armoire, that’s his/SJ’s problem. Not Nathan’s.

Caveat to all this is if the regulations changed midway through which meant the installation was suddenly subject to different safety criteria. Even so, I’m Team Nathan all the way!

With all the dog hair etc. in the kitchen, does it really matter if the plates are chipped?

Why is it that, out of all the chateauverse people, the one who was probably the most privileged to start with, with an Oxford education, and parents and friends who helped her to buy her chateau, (if, indeed, she did contribute a bit of her own money at all), is the one who has had so many disasters holding back the restoration of her chateau? The person who has never had a proper job, or done a proper day's work in her life; who has had friends buying food and cooking it for her; strangers giving her masses of expensive gifts, champagne, clothes, and jewellery, and who is freely given over 30,000 Euros every single month, plus YT income for making badly-edited videos without much content, using staff, volunteers and "friends" who are exploited and not paid for their appearances - it all beggars belief. The other chateaux owners probably had little or no privileges as Fanny did. They probably all worked for years to earn the money to buy their properties. They all work hard restoring their chateaux, most doing the majority of the work themselves, and otherwise mostly employing French contractors to work for them. Many of them are successfully running B and Bs; weddings; workshops or other events. A lot of them are achieving all that as well as bringing up children, and caring well for much loved animals. What on earth has Fanny achieved in comparison, other than grifting money from gullible people who cannot see through her fakery? She has spent hundreds of thousands purely indulging herself and her equally hopeless and hedonistic "fiancé". She must surely see how she has failed and how she caused all these disasters herself due to her ignorance; stupidity, and lack of planning or any real care for her property or for anyone else surrounding her. Several other people and animals have been very negatively affected by being present in her life. It really does beggar belief. How long can this wretched woman survive in this way?

With all the dog hair etc. in the kitchen, does it really matter if the plates are chipped?
Not to mention mouse droppings!

Fanny is busy explaining incorrectly about the chantilly cream.
Then she is blathering on about Phi phi and his inadeqcies.
Wow, that is an abnormally, freakishly long finger. It is scary Long.

Has Snorts always been this good looking?
Did anyone recognise the auction house. Fanny filmed the bins!
Yes, Snorts has always been an absolute darling! 10/10 and utterly matchless in dress, manner and personality. ❤️
(If you've been kidnapped by aliens and they've injected you with some mind altering drug, please post something sweet and kind about Tess's freaky doll, and we'll know to come rescue you). 👽

The auction house:
She loves what they've done to the place. I don't get it; her raving on about the trellis and the urn planters. Yes, they've made an effort but WTF! It's still an ugly building and straight out of The Walking Dead. I'm sure I saw Daryl walk past the place when he was in Paris.

I know this place ,its based in a small office above a beer shop called Beer Head in Naxxar ( don't ask how I know that lol )... There's no Shitoos here in Malta, but there's a plethora of millionaires from the middle east ,,,, with big palazzos and massive boats. . Who knows ,,, 🧐
Up date ,, she is in the Phoenicia Hotel in Valletta Malta ...my sources tell me ,,, told you it's very small island,, lol

Thank you, he said from what he could see/what was shown he couldn't understand the problem. The only other concern he thought they may have would be it's proximity to the main living areas.

The regulations change quite frequently, so it maybe why they're not happy with the plaster boarding and allegedly Aumary was going to double board it. Have we seen the finnished article? Perhaps it's still not sufficient. Mr Spratt also said before he left this morning, there is the other possibility they want a sturdier structure than that. Who knows.

@tarteauxfruits deserves credit too as is also in the know and I am with their thoughts, that a proper 'plant room' is required. Fanny went down the commercial route and that changes a lot of things.

She has the means to keep calling the inspectors back until it's to standard, which is why something doesn't seem right. They as in Shitoo Squad, are arguing the toss over something.

What really ticks me off is her continuous running down of French Artisans and Authorities, making the unenlightened think that everything is tit and runs at a snails pace.

For someone who professes to LOVE living here so much, she's not selling it as such.

Don't like it here Fanny when you're told NO (because you're so use to getting your own way), then do us all a favour and piss off and take that thing with a brillo pad for hair with you!
Yes, I was remiss again in not mentioning @tarteauxfruits for their insights about this, too! She or he also deserves a Tattle hug!

I think there are probably occasions when there are friends (using the word loosely) at Lalande who remain unseen, either by design or sheer fluke. In any event, what Stephanie shows In the vlogs is a cobbled together, mishmash of days, working to the same formula of using parts of random days to seamlessly (!) segue through morning, noon and night in each vlog. Quite honestly, I don’t think the timey-wimey, knotted knitting of chronology matters, other than being slightly dementing. It certainly exercises Tattle’s collective grey cells in trying and work out the time line! Loads of vloggers splice together content filmed over different days or use stuff that’s weeks old. Look at the Fleuries - I can’t believe the kitchen revamp took the amount of time it appeared to take but it provided sporadic content for months on end.

Someone who’s not be seen in ages is Bubble Girl, PJ’s alleged dearest friend. Philip did go to her birthday party but, otherwise, she’s disappeared off the Lalande map. Apart from that couple that visited earlier this year, does the prancing twerp ever see any of his other friends or has he deliberately cut ties with his Maastricht life? Have his friends given up on him, now he’s lording it over a crumbling heap in the middle of nowhere? Questions, so many questions.
Philip's friends have been busy being the 20-somethings they are, doing what 20-somethings do. They have moved on from him as dusty antiques and granny pants don't quite do it for them!

Even Bubble Girl has more of a life that her friend PhiPhi!

What I remember is that when she made the big announcement that heating was going in, out in the garden with Amaury - the infamous line "if I spend $300,000 euros on heating, I won't be able to turn the heat on!" - it was one price - $300,000 euros. Somewhere along the line, I remember her saying in another vlog that the heating install price had changed. I think it was more in the $400,000 range. I don't remember why or if she even said why. Shortly after, the heating work stopped, due to the death of Christoph and the other person who went to the hospital.

ETA: did the price go up because she had to create this fireproof room?
