It's odd he wasn't crated. For such a small dog with new owners and new surroundings it isn't really safe. But it looks like everything worked out. I'm suprised the train allowed an uncrated dog.

I’m so thrilled for you Philip. I have some advice from experience of having a puppy for my daughter while working as a 24/7 caregiver. If I could go back I’d have gotten a little frontal baby bijorn carrier. Simon was alone far too often. I should have worn him.

My daughter has two Christmas Trees (don't ask :rolleyes: ) and all the baubles and tinsel has to be high up as her Poodle loves to grab them off the trees and destroy them while spreading the mess all over the house ! He is a big jumper too !
My dog has no interest in my tree ( one only ) at all.
That behaviour is beneath a Pekingese from the Royal Courts. of Peking ! :love:
So it just depends on his temperament but I really do think a ratter will adore their Christmas Trees and all that shiny stuff to pull apart !

The nutty Knitter will go into overdrive doing 80s inspired knitted dog jumpers. I just wonder how long it will be (hope it doesn't happen) before the video - Lancelot has escaped! Also she's not got a very good track record either, remember she run a kitten over in the past.

When I think of all the poor dogs/puppies abandoned that need homes and she drives all that way!
 
I have just watched the latest CD about stupid getting a dog .

OMG.......surely the dog breeder told them to not let that dog go outside!!!
Puppies hopefully have their first parvo injection when you buy them and when your puppy has its second injection at around 10 weeks or older then you can walk them outside !
I hope Lancy does not pick up parvo . Terrible disease . He walked outside in Paris - dog central .
The amount of food they feed that puppy on the first night was too much.
When you see Stupid walk the dog out of the kitchen in LaLaLande - notice the little dog had his tail between his legs - that is not a happy secure sign.
I feel so sorry for the dog.

Phillip seems to love all animals , so why go all the way to Germany to buy a expensive puppy ? when he could have adopted a rescue . Here in France every summer on the TV they show very sad long videos pleading with people not to abandon their dogs just because they are going on holidays , your choice of course but rescue is better . Ruby is an outdoor male cat. He can ask for food and treats and does. He likes pets only sparingly. Stephanie is allergic to him, but if he wants to live in the back hall, it would be OK. He sleeps in the workshop when he wants.❤

It's funny to me that you have done the Aussie thing of shortening the puppy's name. I know a Lancy up here who has grey straggly hair, long Father Christmas grey beard, beer gut, skinny legs, maybe a tooth or two missing and always with a can of beer in his hand. Lancy the puppy has lost any allure for me!

This breed doesn't bark. I totally get Steph not wanting a bark-y dog, especially if Philip wanted a small indoor dog. That's a rare thing.

Thrilled at your new addition and just know how a dog has a way of working its way into your heart before you are even aware of it. I grew up with dogs, straight from birth and i would definitely reccomend small to medium and be careful of what you pick. Question why a Prague Ratter ? I thought those were super hard to get. (And I've been there, my first dog was something of a hard to find Plott hound)

She did say they're quiet dogs not known to bark much, and that would surely be a selling point for me. Dogs barking set my teeth on edge 😬 Also, looked up the breed and it seems they're intelligent and easy to train, which sounds good too. And they don't have many health issues ...
