I love Daniil too and I’m happy he’s got to another grand slam final after being traumatized at the AO last year. I would have been happy for Carlos too obviously, but I’ve got a soft spot for Daniil. Let’s hope he can keep it together in the final. The audience won’t be on his side I think, which sometimes motivates him and sometimes agitates him to the point of a meltdown.

I really like Medvedev, but I feel like Alcaraz would have had a better chance of beating Djokovic, and that’s what I’m ultimately looking for in every single tournament. I really don’t want him to get a 24th slam. ☹️
The Djokovic/Medvedev head-to-head is 9:5, but Med has beaten him in a US Open final in recent years, so 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Medvedev will have the majority of the support. It's very rare Djokovic ever has the support which is why you always see him cupping his ears towards the crowd and having a rant. He's just not very popular and fans will usually want the underdog to beat him.

the crowd are against him 90% of the time, but the us open seems to be the only place where they like his energy. i guess he appeals to them in some kind of way (whereas he’s obviously not hugely popular at wimbledon, burnt bridges in australia etc…)

i could see him having the crowd with him more than danil, who can be just a little bit snippy for american tastes tbh.

yep. plus americans don’t really love an underdog (unless the underdog is from the us) as much as other crowds, they usually like to witness greatness, so all of those things coupled together makes me think novak will have the crowd with him very fast.
 
They both like to turn the crowd against them to add a bit of pressure. Should be interesting!

I'm sure the over the top crowd for gauff will get me switching sides tonight.
