Fair play to both, wasn’t much that separated them but Djokovic just edged him on the day, felt like he wanted it more in moments. The best match of the year, the game for 4-4 in the first set was ridiculous.

If Novak could drop his food and workout routine it’d be appreciated, cause keeping up with a 21 year old at 37 is insane, I hurt my knee just painting the walls a few weeks ago

In seriousness though, it was a great match. I don’t think anyone could have stopped him today. He knows it was likely now or never. I know he’s like a machine but I do doubt he will be playing at a high enough level in another 4 years…hopefully

Definitely as I feel Alcaraz is often a slow starter.

Poor Andy Murray had to play best of five (luckily winning in 3 sets against Federer and 4 sets against Del Potro ).

I honestly can't see that happening. He strikes me as the sort of person that will never have enough titles so I think he'll keep going until he has a significant drop in his level. Happy to be proved wrong though lol

It wasn't even best of 3. It was 2 sets and a championship tie break.

True. This was Novak‘s first ever Olympic final - so yeah, Carlos still has lots of time to win the next one. And bringing home a silver medal from the Olympics is amazing actually
