Tennis #3 🎾

This is nasty from Serena. She didn't book anywhere for dinner and is outraged that during the olympics and the peak holiday season in Paris that somewhere is fully booked and didn't bump people to make space for her so starts a twitter mob against them. She needs to understand France works differently and she can't go and get whatever she wants like she does in the USA.

I mean…I have no trouble believing that France, like most European nations right now, has a racism problem and that some people would deny a black woman entry to a luxurious place. But from what the restaurant said, this seemed like a genuine case of it being fully booked?

Where's the response?

Check out the replies to her tweet - lots of people calling her out for her entitled behaviour! This has totally backfired on her! The restaurant replied to her and explained the situation. She should delete the tweet. She should also apologise, but I can't see that happening!

Not a good look for her at all!

Here's their response. I also included an example of the type of replies she's getting!

A staff member spoke to variety and said they didn't recongise her which they feel terrible about and that she was told to wait downstairs just like they tell everyone if there's no spare tables.
Isn't this equality? Wanting special treatment because of "don't you know who I am" isn't quality.
Turning this into a race issue like she has undermines genuine racism and makes it look like people are ready to call everything racist.

She's been community noted!

A 20% increase this year in the USO singles winners prize money.

No wonder following the sport is getting so expensive.

The US Open has set another prize money record with this year’s tournament having a prize money purse of $75M.

Prize money in each round of the tournament has been increased with the overall sum being 15% more than 12 months ago. The winners of the singles tournaments will each earn $3.6M which is $600,000 more than what it was in 2023. At the other end of the spectrum, those who lose in the first round will receive $100,000 for the first time which represents a rise of 23%.
