Am I reading it right where she’s taken the shares back off Zak?
It's confusing the way it's laid out, but it seems they've refiled some statements ahead of the dissolution. Common practice to clean up before you close out.

If you're referring to the share capital filing dated 19 Oct 2024, that's actually a refiling (if you look at 07 Sept 2022, it says a clarification was filed again on 19/10/24) of the original statement showing that Jess has 100 shares vs. Zak's 20 shares when the shares were originally issued when the company was formed. There hasn't been any change in the share structure, so Jess isn't buying Zak's shares if I understand correctly.

Claims she can't vlog yet because she's not in the new house and "not settled." Jess it's been 5(?) years, it's never going to be a "right" time.

Also claims she's been gone from YT because she's been focusing on "other projects" yet she has to apologise for late posts in her Substack and her Instagram and TikTok are dead. She has so much contempt for her audience and honestly she's so lucky so many people are still around. It baffles me.

What is she even talking about? WTF is a vlog then? I thought it was videoing your life as you live it, not constructing an optimal, fixed "set" to record at. I was once a Jess apologist. I did not care that she lived off her family's wealth and didn't work a standard job or barely at all, but she's just insufferable with all her nonsensical rationalizations of why she does or doesn't do anything.

Is there a minimum amount of turnover a company has to have to be limited liability in the uk? I'm wondering why they would be winding it down

So, this event with Jeff Vandermeer -- surely a product of nepotism rather than a result of her "influencer" connections, right? I imagine it's more that her mum knows someone who knows someone in their network who put her contact with a fairly prominent author...... because there are so many larger bookfluencers who could only dream of something like this, and I feel angry on their behalf that Jess hasn't put a fraction of the work and effort that others have, and still be handed opportunities like this.

"In conversation with" is a hilarious tagline too. Half her content is posting/reading blurbs from the back of dustjackets. She's hardly a source of valuable insight.

Plus she's charging for it through her own personal patreon/substack?! Absolutely ridiculous. Why would someone pay *her* money instead of the actual author to watch the interview?

Tbf she has raved about Jeff Vandermeer for a really long time so I wouldn’t be surprised if her management hasn’t set this up on the basis of that?

I'm puzzled why the publicists on his side would accept the invitation though. Jess' may have the follower numbers from years ago, but her engagement numbers are abysmal for a busy author like Vandermeer to waste his time with a small fry influencer like her

Eh authors will do loads and loads of interviews to promote their books. A good get for her though, especially since she hasn't done any interviews like this before (as far as I'm aware)

It's not going to end well because I really can't imagine Vandermeer leaving with anything other than a negative impression. Imagine if your favourite singer/author/sportsperson/tv personality is sitting there for over an hr thinking who is this bimbo and why am I here?

lol @ "free with a membership" line - not really *free* then is it??

Idk I do think it's a pretty typical phrasing to say if you have a membership, there's no additional cost. My gym advertises certain events/classes that way. But Jess is still annoying because it seems like she doesn't provide anything for free anymore. Sponsorships aren't a good enough incentive to make a regular YouTube video (or maybe she's having trouble getting sponsorships nowadays?) she needs people to be paying her directly.
