There's already 7 established male pros who are more likeable and/or better at choreo so it's difficult for Neil to get in. It's probably between him & Graziano for the last spot, but Graz has age on his side vs Neil and is (IMO) more naturally charming, so it's easier to imagine him in an Anton-lite role.
 
I do question the BBC's budget choices regarding all the extra pros. They managed every other season with only 16 so why do they now need 20? I get that pros can get injured (like how Nadiya was close to doing the jive with Layton), but in 2019 when Neil was injured, Kevin stepped in despite him having already had a partner (and unpaired pros like Gorka sat on the bench). Just seems like a waste of money to me

I think they're wise to have two reserves (one male, one female) in case someone gets injured early on, but I agree that having 5 reserves is ridiculous. It's not like they're used much.

He said he was going to vlog for every day of the tour and he managed a half arsed attempt of 14 out of 36 that mainly seemed to consist of him eating breakfast or dancing in the lift mirror. I think part of the reason why Neil doesn’t get a partner is because he doesn’t really have any proper commitment. He likes the attention he gets from taking part in Strictly with minimal responsibility and pressure.

It seems his new project which him and Chyna are going to blog and probably monetise is doing up a narrow boat

Skim reading that Gio article in the DM and the sentence about the BBC being grateful to him solely winning that BAFTA and his dark and brooding good makes me suspicious that this article is from his team and he is the BBC source. I thought the alleged crunch talks were tomorrow so would have made more sense for the article to come out later tomorrow. Odd it’s behind a paywall as most of those paywalls are more advertisement type articles I think.

I doubt the BBC have any intention of getting rid of Gio without a formal complaint - Gio knows where the bodies are kept in terms of his time of Strictly and if they dropped him before he wanted to go, you can bet he would be selling the behind the scenes secrets. Their biggest issue is, are there any celebs that want to be partnered with him that they have signed up.

I still want Gio to be partnered with Nicola Beckham as I think he would meet his match with her and Vicks B.

The choreo for the cc was Arduino and Ash-Leigh. Gio simply danced it!

It seems that Gio gets credit for everything positive and he could probably murder his next partner on live TV and still would be the golden boy 🤷‍♂️

If he knows he is back next year when will hear about the other pros?

April 21st was the day all the pros posted that they were back last year, so hopefully within the next few weeks. I don't imagine they'll be any surprises. Maybe Karen and Johannes moving on, maybe Neil and Michelle dumped but other than that probably the same line up. I would like to see a few of them dumped just to add to the line up. Have we ever had 2 years in a row with no new pros?

Not counting the COVID year (where Kai apparently would have been hired in normal circumstances), there's only been 2 years in the show's history where they've not hired anyone (2007 & 2023). I can't imagine they'll go another year not hiring anyone after last year.

He was actually Assistant Choreo alongside Luba for Jason 2014-16 , he’s very popular with the cast and seems to be everyone’s cheerleader. I know he’s a bit cheesy and not exactly sexy, but he’s a good presenter of the Pro Tour and the BBC seem to like him. He deserves a bit of kudos .
Still really don’t like his tattoos though!
