Especially as Layton is Celebrity Houseguest for CBB too! He obviously knew Nikita was going in and it’s a good way of promoting their partnership.

I think it’s definitely a wise move to try and up his popularity and profile while he’s probably the most popular he’s been so far. It’s easy for a pro to fade back into the background even after a successful series so keeping some buzz around his name makes sense, as long as it doesn’t backfire. As others have said he probably wants his own tour within the next few years too. It’s crazy to think he’s getting paid more to sit in a house for 2 weeks than he would be for a series of strictly.

I'd see as more profile building so he can do solo tours and the like. He would be mad to leave the show now. And I genuinely don't believe he is even thinking about leaving. He's a pretty little himbo, but I do think he is actually quite switched on career wise. Although CBB is generally questionable.

Yeah and there’s nothing wrong with building his profile for that as long as he doesn’t act like a dick. With the way these shows are edited i’m pretty sure he will have his moments where he complains etc but as long as it’s nothing major it will be forgotten about in a months time. I can definitely see them trying to push a showmance between him and ekin su though, a few people on twitter are already starting even though they were only stood next to each other 😂 Again though as long as it doesn’t go anywhere then people will have forgotten about it in a few weeks
 
I’m not convinced that he will go down the Showmance route. He’s a serial monogamist. He was with his former partner for 5 years, a couple of months after they split he had his sex podcaster fling that seemed to be no longer than a few months and he’s been joined at the hip with his current girlfriend since last summer. Whilst he doesn’t post as much as she does he has posted pics on all recent holidays with her, she was at a number of strictly shows including Blackpool and the final and also travelled around seeing him at various tour venues. He just doesn’t strike me as a showmance kinda guy (and if he does it will be with Fern not Ekin-Su 😘). I’m surprised that CBB didn’t cast more young single people who could have hooked up.
 
I was puzzling and puzzling the last couple of days over why the CBB producers would want a contestant like him when he's not single. As the only hot young straight guy there, you would think they'd desperately want a showmance, with Ekin Su probably. I found it quite baffling and wondered why they went for him instead of some other young hot guy who is single.

When I read about that 'friend' badge I did cynically wonder if they were intentionally trying to hide that she's his girlfriend, because they know he'll do better on the show if he can cuddle up and flirt with other housemate/s. Especially since he mentioned being a huge flirt in his intro vid. But her latest Instagram post has a bunch of photos that make it obvious she's his girlfriend, so I ?guess? they're not the ones cooking up the scam. But perhaps the producers are going to force a showmance narrative on him whether he likes it or not?

I hope he doesn't end up regretting this... 😬

Can a showmance actually be forced on this show by higher powers? I've always thought such occurences were more manufactured by the participants involved knowing it's going to get them air-time and kept in by viewers?

Also, my mum just called me, very concerned for Nikita's welfare, and that of Craig from Corrie, who she likens to a large jellybaby.

"Ohhh... is Nikita OK? Have you heard? And that stupid Craig? Why are they in it? They should stick together and stay away from that other lot. Will he be all right?"

She's going to be like this every day till he's safely out 😩
