Amanda isn’t very ‘likeable’ , I agree, which has been Gio’s absolute saving grace. Though Krishnan, Ellie, and the others seem to like her just fine. And being likeable is a like threading a needle for women.

I went back and watched the bit of the launch show where she met Gio. She was so excited and even there he kind of put her down a bit, like she was embarrassingly excited. She seemed to be trying too hard from Day One.

He took her to Paris after a few weeks of dating, she moved in after 2 months and she was pregnant within 7 months. I think he lovebombed the tit out of her and then locked her down and impregnated her when she was so young so she didn’t have the chance to mature and the power imbalance to even up a bit.

I am sure her Wetherspoons moment will come when she grows up a bit and thinks what the duck have I done.

Incidentally I have no problem with gingers, back in my wayward youth I was partial to a bit of ginge.

He posted a Tik Tok video once of him giving her Chris Brown (also a huge ick) tickets and you can literally see how much she hates him. I can’t believe he actually posted it.
 
AA has seemed vulnerable for years. She got a mauling because of her issues on trans rights. Then a few months into her new relationship her boyfriend had an horrific accident which put him in a wheelchair. So, in a fledging relationship she has stayed with him - who knows if that was by choice or by a sense of obligation? I have always found her intense. However, she gets a lot of acting work, and if she was a difficult woman I doubt she would get hired, and would have a reputation in the business. If she had a reputation about unstability the BBC would not have hired her.

So, I believe that Gio made her feel uncomfortable and was rude to her. She has not made that up but her vulnerability has made the discomfort deeper for her. The sexual nature of her discomfort probably related to him making a slur about her partner being in a wheelchair - this was mentioned when she first made the complaint. Gio showed his true colours in that clip where he did not know he was being filmed. Plus others have also alluded to his unpleasant personality including other pro dancers not connected to SCD. They were not a partnership made in heaven but Giovanni seemed to be untouchable and should have been told off way before the Amanda season. Shirley B needs to button it too. Her piping up was unprofessional to say the least. The producers of this show seem either rank amateurs or hardened characters who put ratings before any sense of obligation to well-being. They have made so many mistakes - can’t work out if they are bumbling fools or gits.

Seems Gio is doubling down on AA - incensed by her bringing in a sexual nature to the complaints. He is thinking of suing her. He is convinced he will be cleared in a matter of days by the BBC. Source - The Mail, so it may be hogwash.

I also sense vulnerability and instability with AA. But she is a good actress for sure and always in work.

Gio could have picked up on her sensitivities (bullies often seek out weak targets) I would like to see the footage the BBC are sitting on.

Gio is also a performer and can put faces on too. The arguments I see in Gio supporters is that AA is acting her grief.

Time will tell, we can only hope for a thorough investigation. The BBC doesn’t have the best CV for those though.
 
Because of the James Dreyfus angle, and him being asked and turning it down, and then Amanda getting asked, another site has questioned whether they wanted a gender critical contestant to be signed up to provide a contrast to Layton. The BBC would absolutely see themselves as trans allies, and a lot of BBC employees, including production are from the LBQT community. It seems odd that they asked James and then Amanda - both of whom have been very vocal on social media - to be on the show. The other site thinks they wanted whoever the gender critical contestant was to get a bad experience. Who know? Feels a bit of a leap but the BBC seems to act in strange ways these days.

They do always say they want to have a wide variety of contestants in general. And they probably would not use this as exclusion criteria.

But it's not like it ever really factored into the show. The could have just thought Amanda would be good (and they were right, she danced well), and she was available and they had connections to her or her agent. She seemed keen and excited before everything went wrong with Giovanni
 
It seems that Gio thought he was untouchable and Strictly allowed his ego to grow to gargantuan proportions. Thirsty Shitley continuing to fangirl doesn’t help to temper that ego now. Gio is in for a real shock once all this dies down and his fans inevitably find a new pro to follow. He thinks he is the main attraction and bigger than the show and history has clearly demonstrated his future trajectory.
 
I don’t think Gio will sue Amanda but by going to the DM (if he did) and saying that he is probably hoping his fans will think he is absolutely innocent. The problem for Gio is not his fans believing him but those behind the scenes in the entertainment world if he wants that type of career.

Also if Gio has bombshell evidence why didn’t he release this at the beginning and let this drag on for so long.

Not necessarily. That's a very common misconception.

Bullies themselves are usually cowards though, who often seek out those whom they feel threatened by. I was in a bullying situation at work, some years ago. To this day I don't know why the bully felt threatened by me. Or the numerous others he bullied. None of whom were 'weak targets' either. Not by a long chalk.

And if Giovanni thought he was picking 'a weak target' well...he sure as well picked the wrong target in Amanda, didn't he! It's tit to think that he and others have been given carte blanche by the BBC to do this kind of thing, probably for years. Well done to Amanada for taking the stance that she did. She has shone a light on a very very grubby set up indeed.

Unfortunately of the two of them, (Amanda/ Giovanni) she is the one who has suffered the most backlash, which is shocking, beyond belief. There's something very very rotten in society when someone receives threats of rape and murder and nothing can or will be done about the vile cowards who make such threats. 🤬

I felt her reaction to him was totally fake and OTT. I put it down to the stupid VTs they do these days.

I also couldn't understand the pairing of Gio and Amanda. For me it smacked of a partnership made in hell. Amanda has always seemed vulnerable but not like Debbie Magee. Debbie was a widow desperate for a focus. Amanda is a woman with lots of ongoing pressure in her life (disabled partner, teenage kids) Who on earth thought that Gio would be a good partner for her??? For all his fabulous skills as a dancer, hes never come across as particularly emphatic.

I've seen Amanda's ITV news interview and she said Gio apologised every week. Why is the investigation taking so when it seems like an open and shut case???
 
Anton, Shirley and Gio have made themselves to be quite the trio.

I do think Craig and Motsi joining G’s dance class was also a move by them to show G their support.

In other news G’s perfume price has dropped. What does it smell of ? Top note is desperation.

I’m guessing because it’s not. For all the posturing via the DM, we’ve only really heard one side of the argument. That’s not proof.
I don’t doubt that Giovanni’s behaviour was abhorrent and caused Amanda deep distress, but the question of proving it is another matter entirely. What’s the actual evidence? The tapes. And we haven’t seen those. Presumably those who have seen them have not seen evidence of behaviour severe enough to warrant sanctions? Or they did, and he jumped before he was pushed?
I believe Amanda, but proving her claims is going to be extremely difficult unless (as with Graziano), evidence is incontrovertible or there is an admission. I think neither are true here.
BUT, as others have said, mud sticks, and this will forever follow Giovanni.

It’s been discussed a lot on the Zara thread that Pete can’t stand her. He’s the one who told Sam she’d been cheating on him. He goes along with her now to keep the peace with Sam.

I think he could be great, I’m just really surprised if he has signed up, he doesn’t seem the type to join “a happy family”

My other issue with Gio is, if he does have evidence to prove the allegations are false, he should have given at the very beginning as by not he has caused AA even more emotional/mental abuse by dragging this on and by his actions of not giving his ‘I’m innocent’ evidence, caused ongoing trolling of her. So to me that makes him an awful person, wanting someone to suffer all because they made a complaint about him. Also had he have given his apparent I’m innocent evidence straight away, this would also have stopped the press hounding him. So why withhold it all, unless, he is enjoying all the attention?
 
So Govinni has 'bombshell evidence' clearing him (but we have no idea what it is), might sue Amanda, she'd never mentioned sexual claims before (but Krishnan said he'd heard about it so surely it was in her complaint?), bosses are 'incandescent with rage' at her (but not him) and his 'friends' are worried about him (who are they? Anton? Shirley?). Oh and Krishnan's colleagues are laughing at him. Yet another disgusting hit piece from Katie Hind

Did his PR agent write that? The whole I'll sue will come to nothing, he would have to let her legal team see and use the tapes and he seems keen for that not to happen. But it looks good for him to claim he will sue, then the Beryls can point and shout see he wouldn't sue if he had anything to hide. 🙄
 
He would allow the release of the videos if he had nothing to hide. Or maybe the BBC are withholding them - if it was known they were aware of the issues but let it all play out they won’t want the tapes out there. Amanda said the BBC had seen them and were horrified, but not enough to tell Gio to stop it. It would hammer it home that ultimately the buck stops with the producers.
