About bloody time. He needs to go, racist POS.
As much as Anton is a tit and there is no excuse for racist language, this occurred 15 years ago and was dealt with. It seems the press are digging up every Strictly controversy (if so we'll be here a while) to add to the burning pile. If Laila was forced to forgive him and now wants to make a complaint then good for her, but otherwise I think all this is doing is taking away from the actual abuse Zara suffered. Whats next, will Ben Cohen's ex-wife sue strictly for ruining her marriage?

The article literally says Laila Rouass has named him to Carter Ruck, though. It's not the press digging.

Just to add, using a racial slur to somebody is actual abuse.

Yeah, I agree with this. I don't like Anton either but he's already been pulled on this. If anyone should be dragged across the coals it's Shirley and her slobbering over the men.

Before I say what I am going to say - I want to make it clear that I do not agree with the pros treating contestants badly! Absolutely not - there is no need for physical or verbal abuse.

Ok here goes: Zara was not a good dancer. She was clunky and had no rhythm. She probably would have been out in week 2 or 3 if Graziano hadn't worked her so hard. Given what we know now, maybe she should have left in week 2! We'll never know and that is up to Zara to decide.

The contestants learn entire dances, to a very high standard, in a week. Most of the contestants can't dance to begin with. Do we really believe that they progress and improve every week without high pressure? This is where the show is flawed. Many of the contestants are still working their day jobs and the pros are also trying to do theirs - which is to teach these difficult dances.

It will be interesting to see if the standard of dancing drops now.
The standard of the show should be loads better and stronger from now on.

People no longer crumbling under the pressure of demanding teachers should allow contestants to flourish and as for the professionals they will have to get their brains in gear and teach from a place of kindness not aggression, motivate with positive praise and not threats .

No more fakery, the training room now will be a safe place free from seedy little flings or bullying just a well chaperoned dance room and doing their best on a Saturday night for the joy of it instead of fear of letting down their demanding pro's 🤞

So the Nadiya thing seems to be bollocks thankfully. Sounds like she spoke to them about something and someone immediately rang the Mail.
But poor Captain Hook Nicholas Lyndhurst in Goodnight Sweetheart Kai got a bit of an unfair pasting

I was pretty sure it was the case that she’d had a non-scandal related meeting. The media are absolutely desperate for the next ‘Strictly scandal’.

In the earlier series, when expectations weren’t so high, gimmicks/themes were nowhere to be seen (puppet dance aside! 😁), the emotional pornography hadn’t been shoehorned into every aspect of the show, and the couples didn’t have to do ten hours of stupid social media content every week, the dancing was arguably better. I don’t doubt that there were issues then too, but it seemed less of a ‘pressure cooker’.

It’s ironic that, the harder they force the ‘so much fun!!!!!!!’ narrative, the less fun the show apparently is.

I’m not really sure how I feel about the Anton situation. Whilst it was utterly wrong, he was pulled for it, apologised and the apology was publicly accepted. Maybe BBC bosses forced her to accept it and carry on, in which case there is an issue, but this is starting to feel a little like score settling.

Yes, so was I. How would the media have known what went on anyway!

And the corollary of that also, the pros should not have to worry about sleazy stuff from the celebrities. Bobby, last year, with his bare arse out during a training session, for example. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Dianne, that was disrespectful to say the very least. And there were other things that he said and did that should have earned him at the very least a warning to cop the fcuk on.

Someone said it upthread and it's a drum I have been beating too. The judges need to be very much on board the new regime. And no, I don't mean handing out tens and patting everyone on the head and saying you're marvellous even if they are not great. I mean fairer comment, especially from Shirley. No need to be cutting the socks off people. Give fair feedback. And something that I always think they could all do better on, is explain a bit more, what they are looking for. They are often quite vague, or else overly nit picking.

If they are going to make a thing out of the Anton situation then they are going to spend the next however many years having to comb through every single thing that has ever gone wrong out of principle. What he did was wrong but the apology was accepted and they chose to let him remain in his job, you can't just ignore that unless she was forced to accept, if so that's a different thing all together.

Absolutely, Bobby having his bare arse out in front of Dianne during training and drawing her as a massive pair of tits was pretty appalling behaviour and in any other workplace he'd probably be gone. Would be have got away with it if he was an older, less attractive man?

Bobby got away with way too much on the basis of being young, cute and having a sob story. It annoyed me how people got sucked in by that because the guy was clueless.

Imagine if Les Dennis had pulled his trousers down in the rehearsal room then drawn Nancy as a pair of tits. He’d have been crucified!

Exactly.

Are we now to go back over every single partnership and scrutinise every conversation when Shirley is openly inappropriate and unpleasant live on television every Saturday night.

I'm really baffled that she seems to avoid any consequences to her behaviour while everyone is looking elsewhere for wrongdoing.

For what reason did he pull his trousers down for, did he think it was funny.

I think he pretended it was an accident and they ‘slipped down’ while they were rehearsing.

But he had no underwear on, so his bare arse was out, and it was obvious he’d done it deliberately as a ‘oh no! I’m so hilarious and I’ve gone viral!!’ ploy.

Shirley always has to have her 'young man' to salivate over and it turns me

Joe Sugg, Harvey Cantwell, Bobby Brazier week in week out her slimy grin and the you young man are just something else while shamelessly drooling

I'd love to see a 50+ male judge behave that way with such bias towards young pretty girls each series and keep his job.
