About bloody time. He needs to go, racist POS.
I am very surprised by this!! Am I naive?

It’s appalling that he not only got away with it at the time (15 years ago it was most definitely not an acceptable word) but he has been rewarded since with his own shows, becoming a judge etc. Do they really wonder why the pros think they can get away with treating people like shit when he is living proof you can do what the fuck you want.About bloody time. Ok here goes: Zara was not a good dancer. She was clunky and had no rhythm. She probably would have been out in week 2 or 3 if Graziano hadn't worked her so hard. Given what we know now, maybe she should have left in week 2! We'll never know and that is up to Zara to decide.
Before I say what I am going to say - I want to make it clear that I do not agree with the pros treating contestants badly! Absolutely not - there is no need for physical or verbal abuse.

The contestants learn entire dances, to a very high standard, in a week. Most of the contestants can't dance to begin with. Do we really believe that they progress and improve every week without high pressure? This is where the show is flawed. Many of the contestants are still working their day jobs and the pros are also trying to do theirs - which is to teach these difficult dances.
It will be interesting to see if the standard of dancing drops now.
Okay so should schoolteachers hit, kick and spit at the less bright students to make sure they pass their exams? Good teachers find a way to garner improvements without having to resort to bullying. Before I say what I am going to say - I want to make it clear that I do not agree with the pros treating contestants badly! Ugh, remember her being like that last year with Bobby, he could do no wrong.Shirley absolutely loved him didn't she? I think it was on one show she berated a contestant (can't remember who she hated at the time) with her usual stern 'it's week 5 now and you really should be able to do that step' then when it came to Dan came out with her 'what people have to remember is it's only week 5 and so to even attempt that step at all is amazing. Bravo' type stuff.
Quite why the public kept him in is baffling though.

Not for one second saying that Anton has done nothing wrong, but this was dealt with at the time. It's a bit weird that one comment (that we know of) has come back a decade and a half later.Wah-wah-wah:

The judging has a lot to answer for. Imo there is no reason that celebs with no previous experience couldn't be judged on a lower scale and those with on a higher scale, rather like foundation and higher papers at gcse. The better dancers could perhaps add more technical/harder choreography etc.To me this goes back to some of the judges comments. Are some pros pushing harder thinking they will save the celeb from negative comments?
This escalates each year until we have pros thinking it's ok to physically abuse celebs when their standard isn't as high as the pro/judges are hoping for.
Again, this does not excuse the disgusting behaviour we are hearing about, but there seems to be pressure on the pro to get the best out of a celeb, but no set boundaries for judges comments.
If the pros are being subject to tightening of conduct, so should the judges.

It states in the article that Laila accepted his apology at the time. Now, if she felt pressured into accepting that apology at the time or there's more to this story than we have heard, then it's only right that his behaviour is looked into.
I do worry, though, that the media just want to throw anything and everything at strictly to see what sticks.

What are you saying then? Zara would have been out in week 2 if she hadn’t been bullied? That is not what I am saying and I have made that clear. There is no excuse for how he behaved.
I’d imagine the point is that if abusing your partner is a sacking offence now, why are people who abused their partner still working on the show?
