Why has Graz engaged solicitors? Is he hoping to sue the BBC for failure in their duty of care because they didn’t supply him with anger management classes? Christ on a bike, how twisted do you have to be to make this someone else’s fault? He kicked, hit, abused and spat at the person he was supposed to be teaching. All while acting like a lovable, caring, fun person, standing in front of the cameras with his victim and claiming to be having a great time
No one should need to be told that this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable. Are we supposed to feel sorry for poor old Graz because the BBC should have given him more support? I am so incensed by the whole situation. Why was he given TWO warnings but allowed to carry on partnering Zara? They should have removed him from the show there and then

Why would anyone be sending abuse to one of his fans anyway, especially who is 7 and is not in any way in control of his actions? What are they threatening her with and for? I’m a bit dubious about that to be honest

I reckon the "hate" is mum getting some criticism for letting Katie see this stuff online and plastering her autistic poorly child all over social media via a very odd fan account.

Thinking back, I'm absolutely certain that I (among others) posted about being glad that it was Graz partnering Annabel for the tour, as Johannes wasn't doing it. Genuinely thought he was the ideal person, based on what we have seen of him on screen. I'm still shocked that someone could be sooooo different behind the scenes.

It's been said already I think, but this will be the safest year ever for celebrities to take part. Shocking that it had to be for such awful reasons though.

BBC are airing the first ever ep of Strictly as part of 20th anniversary and an alternative to the Olympics series of classic repeats on bbc4

(Is it available on YouTube? I've never actually looked)

I just can't believe he was supposedly warned, while the Gio thing was going on, and nothing was done! The Mail story suggests a cover-up, that production staff reported him and the show didn't do anything.

Also says: Graziano is 'set to take legal action against the BBC, claiming that he wasn't given any support on how to deal with the pressures involved with competing in the show. A friend of the star told the Mail: 'There are questions over their [the BBC's] procedures, and how they operate behind the scenes. He believes that there is a lot of pressure on professionals to get nines or tens to entertain the audience.'

I'm sure that's true and sounds like the support is a mess and hopefully will be addressed. Doesn't excuse what he did.

The Mail yet again minimises Giovanni's behaviour to 'a bruised toe' for Amanda, which (a) doesn't support what she said in her interview and b) erases Ranvir and Laura.

Interesting article. Basically says what we all have, that Amanda has opened a can of worms and others on the show are now scared. If they’ve done nothing wrong what’s there to worry about? The show needs a complete overhaul and like Love Island and Big Brother they need to start taking the celebs welfare seriously.

One thing I don’t understand if given two warning why didn’t they monitor him via the training videos after the warnings?

If Graz really is going to try and blame the BBC for his actions after they warned him, then it shows what kind of person he is and that is he not capable of taking responsibility of his actions.

Tbf, this has been very negligent of the BBC and once again, they fudged their duty of care. I'm not saying Graz is right to blame them as that was on him, but they ARE responsible for everybody's safety and tbh I think they should face consequences. Their safeguarding was wholly insufficient.

"Pressures involved with competing in the show" I'm sorry but has he not been a competitive dancer for a large portion of his life? Also, this show has been on the air for going on 20 years now and while some of the pros have been dickheads to their partners in the past, there's never been a story like this before.

There needs to be more support for people on the show for sure. Especially if his behaviour had been reported during the show which resulted in him being warned and yet this whole mess has still happened.

I assume from now on all the training will be filmed or chaperoned. It will change the culture for sure.

Fair play to Amanda. She opened a can of worms which needed to be opened. I am shocked that some of the production staff brought concerns about Graz to senior producers and their concerns ignored. There is massive culpability there. They are all about ratings and he seemed to be a favourite with them. They probably saw him being in it for a good few years.

Zara, known as influencer (was she, or was she a reality tv person - never knew her before SCD) saw this as a massive opportunity for her career, plus a fun thing to do. Glamour and glitter and the chance to learn how to dance. Instead she got physically and verbally abused by a colleague who was meant to be nurturing her. Coercion has now been mentioned. She probably saw her dreams going up in smoke if she complained. Amanda is an older woman, has a successful career, knew what was right or wrong in a professional setting, and felt strongly enough to complain. She was fobbed off initially too but despite censure from all over the place, has steadfastly continued to hold the BBC to account. Good for her. It is not just the dances who have to go. Some senior producers do too.

She's just made a 2nd account for Katie... it has pics of her with Neil.
Now that’s just child abuse!

TBH I just screenshot Katie’s mums post because I remembered her being mentioned on here. I’d seen posts about her on the Facebook group but didn’t realise she had her own instagram. She (or in reality her mum) is a super fan and every inch of her bedroom is covered in strictly pics. The only other posts on there are referring to her health issues including a post about her being abused for having a colostomy bag and hitting back with a witty retort that is definitely a candidate for the DHOTYA. I’m really uncomfortable with posts about very personal health things like this that a 7 year old can’t consent to.

One of the worst things about Graz being already warned twice about his behaviour towards Zara is that he then went on to do both the live arena and professionals tour. Rewarding bad behaviour just reinforces the toxic attitudes and behaviour.

Exactly. It's disgraceful that things were allowed to get to this sorry state. But nothing excuses what happened. At the end of the day, we are all responsible for our own behaviour.

This sums up what I was about to say.
And it's a sparkly bit of light entertainment that takes us, the audience, through the winter months. Not life or death, FGS.

My other query now is, if the senior producers etc were aware and Graz had, had warnings about his behaviour are the other pros aware of his anger issues? Graz appeared to be well liked by them all.
Sarah James in particular needs to take responsibility.
Absolutely agree about the rewarding of his bad behaviour. Must make the pros and judges think they are untouchable.

The original Sun article reads like it came from a BBC source: 'we knew nothing at the time and took action as soon as we found out' etc'

And the latest reads like it's come from Graziano's PR: 'it wasn't his fault, anger management needed, production knew and did nothing' etc

I doubt either version is completely accurate and maybe the truth falls somewhere in-between. Seeing what happened with Amanda, it's easy to believe that they can bury their heads in the sand when it comes to these things. I really hope they wouldn't have completely ignored any physical abuse though

(Oh and Graziano can continue to get and stay in the bin for all that 'they didn't give me anger management training!' bs)

What a trooper Graziano is. Despite struggling with managing his anger this year he managed to do the arena tour, followed by his own tour (good timing on that) followed by the professionals tour followed by holidays. When would he have time to address his anger management issues?

It was on YouTube but it got blocked in the BBC's copyright blocking spree a few months ago. It's still on Vimeo:

I wish they would show the earlier series again, but they won't, especially now people would be looking for bad behaviour from the pros. James Jordan was an absolute arse to Georgina, imagine a pro fat shaming their partner nowadays

How’s this going down on Strictly Twitter? I used to constantly get suggested tweets from the teenage girls with fan accounts for some reason, but I’ve since been banned from Twitter for being mean about a rapist (😡) so I can’t look for myself anymore.
