I didn't say it made them more deserving! just an observation, and it maybe says something about the audience.. This season does show a shift I think, which was probably started in John and Johannes' year, as they 'normalised' same-sex dancing for a lot of viewers.

I agree with those saying after ITT that Johannes needs a long spa break and a fab, stress-free partner next year. Clearly he has been amazing with Annabel, but I was struck by her saying he was helping her with her grief because he's been through grief, which is lovely, but also tough on him, as he has to remain professional, do the routines, do all the work etc, while being triggered himself with his own experiences..

Oh for sure. Johannes was the perfect partner for Annabel (he truly is the most beautiful man in every way) and even stony hearted me had tears in my eyes at their dance on Saturday night.

He is such a giving and caring person. All of this has to be taking a toll on him too. I do hope there is time for decompression and that there is care for the pros in that type of situation.

I also hope she will be okay. Her bereavement is so recent and I hope there won't be a massive crash in store for her, emotionally, when Strictly is over.

It’s a heck of a lot to put on a person who isn’t a trained therapist or grief counsellor. I hope there is some sort of pastoral care and support for both of them behind the scenes.

But youre asking why isnt a gay winner as if that's the audience's bigotry, that's being extremely unfair to the audience. Why hasn't an old person won (55yr old Bill isn't old). John & JoJos final was lame, so was Rose's but she got through because being able to dance when she can't hear the music - otherwise AJ and Kai would probably have nailed a better showdance.
No idea on Jayde's sexuality, but she did same sex dance, but she wasn't a good dancer and her personality was unlikeable - she was booted..
Nobody deserves to win unless they can dance and if the audience warm to their strictly personality and a lot of voting changes on showdance performance.

Agree Johannes needs a holiday! But seeing his warmth and support with Annabel had been wonderful.

i’m hoping they did it on a level she was comfortable with tbh - when i watched it i thought the bench was a lovely detail, but then when i thought about it later i just hoped that she okayed it. it’s one thing to take johannes (who she obviously loves) to a place that’s very special to her, but it’s another for us to see it too, if that makes sense.

i know they play the VTs to the studio as we’re seeing them and it did look like she was teary as the dance started. it must have been so hard for her to try and get into the zone while also listening to herself talk about those things.

i think they’re definitely hoping it gives annabel an exit tbh. this is the point where they start trying to shed the tryers so i think she and krishnan will have some “tactical” dance choices coming up.
