Does anybody know who that strange elder lady was who flew kai and Gio away? I have read various rumours- one being that they were escorts ( not in the typical sense, more just young men she could spend on) for her. Nonsense I’m sure of course 🤣

Supposedly she is married to a wealthy UK businessman and Gio is friends with the family and has stayed with them before and gone on their private plane. It was probably us who suggested they were escorts (I remember suggestions that they would be forced to dance to 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' at midnight)! More likely they got a few nights free stay at the hotel Nonna and her family were at, which just happened to be full of older people.

I hope Kai has a good security team for that Donaheys girl. Though I reckon behind that sweet facade Nadiya could drop-kick her if needed.

Yes I think the gigolo rumour was definitely started here in jest 😆 I’d love to know how he ended up knowing her so well though- it’s not like his family have loads of money or connections.

She has two daughters and I’m very surprised the Gio hasn’t dumped his commitment to being a Fanny rat for one of them as I’d have thought a billionaire’s daughter was right up his street…

Luba is very close to the family too so maybe it's a dance world connection. She often goes to their place for a few days in the country.
May be something to do with Strictly cause I remember just after lockdown they threw a massive party at their mansion in the UK and loads of the cast and crew were there. One of the hairdressers posted photos from it.
 
Have only been a strictly fan for a few years. Can anyone answer an Anton question? Something feels very off with him. Kinda creepy really. Was he the strictly Fanny rat before Gio?

He was always marketed as Mr Ballroom in at least a shirt and tie and a nice pair of slacks at all times, who steered his partners round and managed to get a nice waltz out of the hopeless.
Given his partners included Lesley Garrett (where he couldn’t get a word in edgeways) Esther Rantzen and That Widdecombe Woman it’s probably best we park that idea for my sanity
He‘s a strange one really … he’s unctuous, sneakily sarcastic/downright rude and end-of-the pier middle billing but for some reason Strictly/the BBC have been trying to turn him into Mr Saturday Night for over 15 years. Unless they really have a yen to bring back Seaside Special, it’s not happening.

His biggest scandal was calling Laila Rouass a 'P*ki' when she had a lot of fake tan on. He apologised but given it was 2009 that was it - maybe today he'd have been sacked. I've not heard about him shagging around. Indeed I thought he was gay for years (that old male pro dancer stereotype!)

Kai and N are doing a dance weekend at Donaheys currently, and Kai's biggest fan who is a young girl, maybe early 20s, is there - she is always posting semi-jokingly about how he is her bf, they are in love etc. She seems quite obsessed: I think she's bought tickets for lots of dates on their tour so I guess he has to be nice to her![/QUOTE]

I suppose the original FR is going to be Brendan? Started series one engaged to Camilla ended series one not engaged to Camilla and instigator of The Strictly Curse with Natasha.
Stepped out with Abi Titmuss and had a couple of other celeb-style romances.
Went on Celebrity Love Island (which I remember fondly for the handbags dust up with Lee Ottaway in the back of a limo)
 
I do find it slightly irritating that Anton and Gio can do a stage show together and some sort of bro-travelogue and the only comments are ahhh, isn’t it great that they’re such good friends when Motsi could barely look at Oti without being accused of being biased. I want Shirley to go on a mini-break with Luba and watch the sky fall in.

It sounds like most of it was to do with dance offs? and I think there was actually 2 or 3 weeks where her vote made a difference? she saved Molly over Kym and Tyler and Fleur over Will. I think that was it. Most of the time her vote (even if it was against the run of the other judges made no difference at all).

If it’s the ‘casting vote‘ responsible for most of the nastiness then take it away. Every Judge has one vote and in the event of a tie public vote is a decider. Then the only people the super fans have to blame are themselves.

I think she’s mentioned in the past that she would be looking to move to the US if Mark started a family, so maybe she is starting to consider a departure for a few reasons.
 
People on DS in the know about DWTS say the panel has been confirmed already at 3 judges. I'd put a lot of money on Shirley staying. It's a very lucrative gig.

Her absolute worst vote was to save Richie in the onesie over Fleur, but luckily it made no difference. Feelings were definitely running very high at Will's elimination - remember he had to publicly ask his fans to to send abuse?
