It really is like a pro teaching an almost pro, Layton and Nikita have just kind of admitted it there.
It gives Nikita so much opportunity for creativity, when he doesn't need to worry about the fundamental execution of it.

I agree. Yes Layton is a very good dancer and Nikita is delicious but their partnership together is electric. Amazing chemistry, lots of laughs and very in tune with each other.

they're just so lovely together and really get on, without layton completely losing the plot like half of the 2021 cast did

It’s a shame Layton’s experience will probably stop him from winning because he’s an absolute delight to watch dancing. He’s who I most look forward to watching every week!

Maybe it sounds silly but as a queer person myself, it’s a genuine joy to see Nikita completely at ease with Layton & them appearing to have a genuine friendship. Less so now but when I was younger and single, being very openly bisexual made life difficult with friends. I got so many comments from girls I met about it being weird because I might fancy them. Oh, you can’t come on this girls night away because you hookup with girls. 
I found so many girls really struggled with the concept of my sexuality & the fact I expressed it freely .. I really struggled to find genuine female friendships. So I love seeing L&N, genuinely makes my younger heart happy! I fancy the pants of Nikita but I like him even more for the lovely person he seems to be.

I guess this weekend is the one where the Blackpool talk will start. I think it is a hard week to guess who will be in the dance off before seeing the couples dance on Saturday especially if the judges cause one or more ties on the leaderboard. To be fair it is at the point where this will be the case each week going forward.

I hear you. It's not silly at all. I'm 50 and straight but my god I am delighted to see both Nikita and Layton dressing as they want, acting as they want and just going gung ho in their partnership and putting two fingers up to anyone who Is uncomfortable with that.They are such a great partnership. I'm so sorry you had a tough time with acceptance when you were growing up, and I'm so glad that seeing Layton and Nikita is healing
it really is joyous to see how relaxed Nikita is and how close they are - I know the ringer stuff means some people have got their pitchforks out, but I'm hoping that seeing two men dancing together in a completely natural, fun way with amazing chemistry helps to neutralise the hostility and fear some people have towards queer people, or people doing something different to what's "acceptable".---
I've just caught up on It Takes Two - Ellie and Vito are so flipping cute together!! And Vito with just a hint of stubble instead of his beard...FFS, now I've got another Strictly crush

It has been nice to look on FB groups and see so many Beryls supporting Layton, or at the very least, defending him. I think just as John was important for representation, Layton will be, to show you can be openly queer/camp/effeminate and play around with that and various kinds of gender performance (wearing dresses or not, being 'masculine' or not). Same here. I just love their partnership, love it.
I look forward to seeing them every week. I love the fact that Nikita knows he can throw the kitchen sink at Layton and push him to the limits. I think Nikita is one of the top pros, and seeing the two of them together is just pure joy.
