Just saw on DS that Ellie is now (very slight) bookies fave to win! I don't think this will actually happen as I presume there is a Bobby/Nigel demographic out there waiting to back them once either of them shows a sign of having a winner's journey. But NGL I would love it, if only for LadyLav's (and Gio's) reaction...

Adam is odds-on fave for next elimination, ahead of Angela S

Here's Nikita:

I love you, thank you! 😍

I think this year is quite unpredictable. I think who is likely to make the final/semi-finals is obvious but there’s no outright winner yet I don’t think. I think Ellie, Nigel & Bobby all have a decent shot for different reasons. I’m slightly worried Angela R might be getting a lot of public votes.. if she doesn’t hit a dance off, I feel she might be a shock finalist if her social media views across all platforms translate into votes!

I agree that Layton is likely to start being in the bottom two from about Blackpool onwards. If he’s in the bottom 2 in the semi’s, he’ll in theory knock out a favourite. He’d knock out Bobby for sure but I can see the judges making up some bonkers excuse about him being worse than Ellie or Nigel 😂 Although Craig, Shirley & Motsi seem quite enamoured with their partnership.. Anton a bit less so.

I’d be surprised if Krishnan made it to the semi’s - he’s usually towards the bottom of the leaderboard and I can’t see that changing. He’s such a lovely man but his dancing is.. mediocre at best 😅 Unless he has a huge public vote behind him, he’s going to end up in the dance off and probably up against stronger dancers.

Bobby seems pretty popular online. I personally don’t think he’s a shoe in as his dancing isn’t brilliant (but also, not bad) but there’s a lot of ‘ohhh he lost his poor mum, look how brave he is’ going on out there 😫

Why do we think Bobby is a shoe-in for the final/the glitterball? Does he have a huge public following?
I've said a couple of times I think he's a non-entity in many ways.

Nigel for the babe factor, Ellie for the wow factor, and Krishnan for the sweetness factor would be my picks!

The bookies have had him down as favourite since even before Strictly. I think people believe that as a young man with a tragic backstory, he'll walk it to the glitterball. I think the momentum is working against him though - Ellie has impressed week after week while Bobby's dancing has never really taken off. Even the hips that were meant to be His Thing were shown to be not so great thanks to Fleur's hip cam.

I also think that people were counting on him doing an emotional CC for his mum and Annabel has got in there first commemorating the very recent loss of her husband, so I think the impact of his dance won't be as big now. I really don't see him having the emotional maturity to carry something like that off anyway - he'd be better off doing Dianne's usual cringey jumping around street dance.

Even though he's my fave, I keep forgetting about Layton being a potential finalist.

In that case, Bobby could be the one out. I know he has the biased 'Aw diddums' factor, but then I think Nigel has the biased 'Ooh, I fancy him' factor, so I hope they do cancel each other out, if I'm being honest.

If Krishnan did get passed Blackpool, he'll languish at the bottom of the LB, so even with a good public vote, he wouldn't avoid the DO, so could never make the final.

It's giving "Susan, it's an aubergine recipe"

I think it’s a given that Shirley in particular is going to cry buckets at Annabel’s CC. She tends to find that ones that reference loss very touching. The only thing Bobby do to compete now is use a Liverpool anthem as his music. Simon Rimmer took You’ll Never Walk Alone, so maybe Ferry Cross the Mersey?

I actually have nothing against Bobby and he's not a terrible dancer but I do have a feeling they're trying to "Ore" him to pole position, especially given the rather odd brow beating of Nigel, who is probably Bobby's main competition for votes (as in, the same type of people would be likely to vote for them, albeit for different reasons).

Yes, that's something I am really enjoying. There's no nailed on winner, imo.

I love Krishnan, would like to see him, Nigel, Ellie and Layton go as far as they possibly can.
Happy for any one of the four of them to win.
I feel the same. I’d be happy if any of those 4 won.

Angela R, whilst amazing for her age, isn’t good enough. Angela S I forget is there as whilst she could be good she has never wowed me. Adam is bland too. Bobby has had a couple of cute dances but he is all floppy limbs. He really does look like a lanky Trebor Mr Soft. and I can’t imagine him doing a lot of the dances left.

There could be a slight possibility that Nigel and Bobby will split the vote so much that they cancel each other out. In that case, Ellie, with growing popularity, could end up trumping both of them.

That's obviously assuming all three will make the final. If they do, then unless something dramatic happens within the remaining time (e.g. huge comeback for Nigel, Ellie dropping down the LB, etc) then I think it would make quite an unpredictable final with no runaway winner.

Opposite ends of the spectrum cancelling each other out. 😬

They have both been in Eastenders, if anyone wants to know which one was the better actor, better scripts, better performance, more fanciable, more charismatic, heart throb to the masses ..... guess which is off the scale ahead, no contest. He's not even aged at all either.

Nigel is a beautiful man, inside and out.

Still banging the drum for Nigel. 😁

This is what puzzles me really. They surely know going in hard on a celeb increases sympathy for them, and so increases the vote? I'm still expecting a comeback from Nigel (any mistakes they pick at now will be overlooked) and he'll be declared "as the one to beat". Something along those lines.
