Bobby reminds me a bit of Neil from The Inbetweeners - daft but harmless. In the first Inbetweeners film Will is really stressed and Neil tells him not to worry about things and just to be happy like he is, the insinuation being that he hasn't got the intelligence (emotional or otherwise) to think too hard so he just deals with life in a cheerful way. That seems quite Bobby to me!

perfectly put!

No joy watching Layton at all. He can already dance .
I get that there is a degree of lack of wow factor that Layton can dance the way he can. But for me he and Nikita still bring the joy - both in their partnership and in the way they are letting rip on the dancefloor. Anyway, it's all subjective, but just as for me, Krishnan showed real joy in his QS, and Ellie seems to be out there just having a lot of fun, Layton is bringing the joy through his personality, even though he knows he won't win. And we need that when there are people who are anxious or nervous about their dancing (Nigel, Zara, Adam, maybe Annabel) or zonked out (Bobby).

This is the most perfect comparison ever.

I love to see a partnership that just works and I love seeing a pro getting to put whatever they want into a routine in the knowledge that their celeb can handle it, and hang the consequences. So, for me, Nikita and Layton can swap leads, wear dresses and do backlips to their hearts content.

I think he'd have been good with Nancy. Nancy is a great choreographer, fun and appears to be a brilliant teacher. I reckon he'd have responded to her strict but zany style well and learnt some proper technique. They would also not be hampered with so much height difference or the constant need to stress "WE'RE LIKE SIBLINGS".

Dianne should have had Les, really. Or she could have been challenged by being paired with Jody - almost all the other pros have had a partner with a disability or a same sex partnership, some both and it makes you wonder why she has never been allocated something that would take more skill.

My theory is that since 2018 and her becoming a youtuber, the producers have some misplaced belief that a Dianne win/decent run will somehow boost their younger audience, as all her partners have been 'good on paper'

Dev - promising dancer (big movie week dance and scores before they got booted off)
Max - member of popular boy band, who's last member won Strictly by a mile
Robert - heart condition aside, he had a history of doing entertaining dances on tv, they'd been asking him to do Strictly for years, was a pretty big 'name' and they probably hoped for another Bill Bailey type
Tyler - handsome, personable, good dancer
Bobby - voter catnip for a few reasons

The irony being she's never made it past Blackpool. I thought she would have been the obvious choice for Les this year as she is WAY overdue a duffer

Same with Gio - it's like they're scared to give him someone crap as they think his nutty fans will stop watching or something (I know Richie was a bit crap, but they clearly thought he would be in for longer with a same sex partnership)

I couldn’t care less what Leyton wears tbh. He could strut his stuff in a bikini. He looked fabulous on Saturday night, he has the charisma to pull anything off.

my biggest peeve atm is that my husband has just said Krishnan is on borrowed time and won’t even make it to Blackpool. I’ll be back after I’ve smothered him with a cushion….

Oof. Things really went to tit with Gio didn’t they 😬

I don’t get how you can’t get joy from watching two very good dancers dance, celeb or pro. It’s like saying you don’t like watching pro-dances because they can all dance. Yeh, Layton can dance but watching him dance is mostly just like watching the pros. Who are fantastic to watch! 🤷🏼‍♀️ You don’t have to vote for him or want him to win but are you really saying you’d rather watch Angela R & Adam instead?! 😂 Enjoy it for it is & vote for someone else?!

She got to the final with Joe
